Hi, im interested in buying a F90BT unit from someone who have tried to update the unit to 3.0, now it turns on, but the screen is black
He contacted pioneer and they said he needed the WINCE software to recover his unit, then he forgot about it for a while and ended up buying a car with factory navigation so now he is selling the f90bt
My question is: is it simple to recover it? I saw some threads here but im preety much confused, if any of you could point a topic i would be grateful, thanks
Simple, if it can go into testmode, you should be alright. If it cant, I would stay away from it
i think im having the same issue, when i boot up my unit it goes black after the pioneer logo. if i wait and press the menu button i can go to the navigation screen and its fine.. but when i click on the main menu the text is missing. i bought the unit used off of craigslist and didnt think there was anything wrong. the guy showed it to me in navi mode 
.. can someone tell me how to fix this if there is a way to fix it? pioneer says i should sent it in but the charge is insane.

When your first post is a question about a common problem, the solution for which is currently in TWO threads on the first page of the Problems/Troubleshooting F-series subforum, I don't see how you're expecting a response brimming with sunshine and puppies.
You could've saved your Avic411 cherry for something special, but you just went and gave it away...
ok whatever you say... like i said i searched for a few days and found nothing that worked..even with your links im still in the same boat.
i even tried what tribalb said below with no luck and his problem is identical to mine
