I want to create a backup copy. I have a Dual Layer Burner and a DVD-R Dual Layer media. I just need to know how to duplicate it

what i do is using nero i click on copy and backup icon then disk copy
insert the original disk first so it makes a image copy of it once it is done then it will ask you for a blank disk

see i tried last night 3 diff times, first trying to go from dvd to dvd then ripping it to the computer as a image, then i think from a iso, either way they all errored out at around 5 mins left in burning, if anyone has any ideas they would be apprecieated.
thanks

Me too. I used the lowest speed 2x and burn the CD but everytime, there will be error when verifying the files

if you are using nero do a test burn before you actually burn your disc

I fought this one for a while.
I flashed my firmware on my DVD burner to accept the -R DL discs I was using and it worked fantastic for 2 sets.

+R DL works too. I just tested it. The +R DL are also a lot easier to get a hold of too.

i had problems with + DL , which brand did you use , burner too ?

found some -DL's only to discover my burner didn't support it...

you gotta have your writer to change the bitsettings to DVD-ROM for proper compatibility

Basically, this is how I did it

I use DVD Decryptor to create an ISO file. Then use Nero to burn the file at 2x (suprisingly, that is my minimum speed). Selected the Finalized Disc option and burn.

Thats all I think. It seems that the whole idea about burning backup copy of your navigation disc is still unknown! So many people with so many answers and nobody seems to be confident with their answers.

For example, which media works? +R or -R Dual Layer media? Some had used +R and worked. Some used -R and worked while some don't.

They problem I've come across is that it starts backing up the disc and the asks for a virgin disc, after a little while it kicks it out saying the disc doesn't have enough space. How large space do I need or do I have el cheapo dvdrs??

Its actually fairly simple. Check out my post here for more useful information: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7817#7817

Use DVD Decryptor if possible for this disc. Its very simple, and will change the booktype for you.

Hope this helps,
Let us know.

I am in NYC with the version 60 dvds. Let me know if someone needs a copy. All I ask is for the cost of the dual layer dvds, or just swap me 2 blank dual layer dvds for the copies i give you :)
