Just got another code for the next week - 30% off all these Pioneer products:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=pe_69560_16 ... PDKIKX0DER

promotion code at checkout: VRCBKCX6

tough times for Pioneer?

If recent history is any guide, Pioneer starts offering discounts and clearing out inventory when they're about to roll out a new unit and stop supporting the existing ones....they've probably got something coming that doesn't require the soon-to-die MSN service for traffic, etc. Bastards.

Well those were certainly two very helpful entries on the topic of "Sale at Amazon".

There are lots of products discounted everday at Amazon, especially in their "lightning deals" section. I just picked up a nice camera for $100 less than anywhere else I could find it this week.

Companies usually "refresh" their lines every year, so it's likely Pioneer will follow suit at CES next year. Kenwood has HOW many models now in the DNX platform? And in HOW many years? Seems to me they release a new model every year to do just what you are saying: fix bugs and add features.

If you wanna wax-poetic about Kenwood, that's fine, but why not start a thread about it called "I hate Pioneer and they bug me and I love Kenwood". This was a thread for people who may want to buy a unit, and were looking for a good price. I don't get a warm-fuzzy you have either in mind.

my .02 cents

Whew, I got the discount, just have to get the right person. X920BT for $895 - 30% - $100 = $526. I can definitely live with that, haha.

One more thing, I was told the rebate comes with the actual nav unit when I receive it in the mail. Is this correct? No link/rebate form was provided after I submitted the order.

EDIT: Rebate info can be found here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... ion+Rebate

stupid question: you bought it from "Amazon", and not a company in the Amazon "marketplace", correct? Some of those companies AREN'T authorized dealers, and hence, no warranty and no rebate. Good news the deal's still alive

Yes, It's from Amazon. I have the rebate form so all is good.

I think what he means is you can buy items from other stores through Amazon. You go to Amazon.com and search for your item and when you add it to your Amazon cart and pay for it you're actually buying from a 3rd party... sometimes w/o knowing unless you pay very close attention. If you accidentally do this and the store you happen to buy from isn't a Pioneer authorized dealer your rebate will be denied even if you send everything for the rebate in properly. He's just trying to let you know that you need to make sure you buy from Amazon (or another authorized store) to get the rebate approved.

Yes I know, let me rephrase. I meant I bought on Amazon from the Amazon retailer. States on invoice, "Sold by: Amazon.com, LLC"

excellent news. at these prices, there's not much competition for the x920

Oh yeah for sure. I'm looking at $630 for everything, that's the wire harness, ground loop isolators, dash trim kit and backup cam. That's pretty good considering a shop would probably charge upwards of $1,000 for a comparable setup.

If you're installing yourself, be super-careful to NOT plug any RCA connections to the unit while the power's on or the grounding wires haven't been connected. Pioneer has some internal fuses that fry easily if either of these things happen, and then you have a brick.

So, disconnect battery, ground unit, make connections, and then hook the battery back up after all that's been done.

Yes I am aware of the Pico fuse. I installed an X710bt in my other vehicle so I have an idea of how to go about installing this one.

And, like clockwork, the daily email push from Amazon. This time it's a little less: 25%, and, from what I see, the z120 and x920 aren't listed in the "100" products. However, I degress.

It's amazing what you can achieve on the phone with a CSR and a smile :)

Wow you guys are quite lucky to pick it up at that price. I'm still looking around for a good price. If possible, can you keep us updated cpkdude.

Sonic Electronics has it for $660 last I checked. $660 - $100 MIR is only a little more than what many of us paid, plus they give you credit towards a wire harness.

Wow, thank you GoodRev (lotta nice people on this forum). I forgot about Sonic's website. Guess I'll be getting it there. Just out of curiosity, what is the likelihood the Amazon deal will come back and work for the X920BT?

Posted Oct 01, 2010 · 21:22 UTC#41

I just bought my X920BT from Sonic earlier this week. They are NOT recognized as an authorized ONLINE reseller, so the rebate will not be possible through them. They ARE an authorized reseller, so your warranty is still legit when purchasing from them.

Go to pioneerelectronics.com to see their recognized list of authorized online resellers - it's pretty small.

The Amazon deal was awesome - like almost everything I order online, I missed the boat on that one.

My apologies, I didn't know there was a separate list for authorized online retailers. Still the Sonic Electronics deal is pretty good.

Sonic has been pretty good price matching for me in the past. Perhaps if you give them a call they'll give you the MIR or at least a portion automatically off. Worth a shot IMO.

As someone else posted, you do get the $30 credit for a dash kit and harness - provided they have/make one for your car. They will only credit $13 on the dash kit, but if they have one that's slightly more they'll just make you pay the difference. Their price on the iPod cable is pretty reasonable too.

All in all, it wasn't horrible getting it from them but definitely would have been sweeter to get the rebate. If the rebate would have worked, I might have actually stepped up to the Z120. I did try to negotiate, but wasn't able to get any more out of them as they still had the best price on the unit than anyone else at the time.

Is this sale still going on????? Im selling my F90 soon and would love a X920!

Posted Oct 02, 2010 · 14:33 UTC#45

Which sale? The Amazon deal is dead for now, but cpkdude always posts new discount codes if and when he gets them.

Sonic still has the X920 for 659.00

New sale from Amazon - 25% off for qualifying products

Z120BT is the only Nav unit in the list - use code 89ANXAWU

After 25% discount and the $100 rebate, you can get the Z120 for $871

Posted Oct 06, 2010 · 18:50 UTC#47

Is the sale going on at Amazon again? WOuld love to get 30% off $895 price. THat is $626.50 which is best price from legit vendor I have seen.

Posted Oct 06, 2010 · 20:53 UTC#48

Amazon IS doing a sale again, but it is only 25% this time and ONLY the Z120 is in the list of qualifying products.

The X920BT does NOT qualify for this sale. I just posted this in the thread because others had asked about the Z120 here as well.

Sonic Electronix has the X920 for $659 with a $30.00 credit for dash kit and/or wiring harness. That's been the best deal I can find for a brand new X920.

I got that e-mail too and was sad to see the x920 not there.... :?:(

If a X920BT is what you guys are interested in PM me. I've made no secret as to my personal feelings towards the X920BT I had installed for a couple weeks so it's for sale since I replaced it. I haven't yet posted it for sale but it's basically brand new with a Pioneer mounting kit (cage/can, trim ring, brackets... $40) a Connects2 steering wheel control adapter cable ($10) & a 2gb MicroSD card I will throw in with it. I'm not giving it away so don't PM me thinking you'll get it for half price but it's the best deal you'll find right now.
