Hi,

What backup camera do you all recommend for the AVIC HD1BT ?

The original ND-BC1? - or are there other alternatives with better features ?

The price of the ND-BC1 is not a problem - just checking if there are other alternatives.

I'm going for a rear bumper install.

I'm happy with my NDBC1

i've been looking for one too. i think we should look for CCD rather then cmos.

I am using a similar one. But, I found 2 problems from this kind of camera. It is hard to view during the rainly day when the water dropped on the camera lens. Also, you are not really able to see the rear view when the light directly point to the camera such as another car behind you at night. Do you have these problems?

No I have not experienced either of those problems. I have an envoy xuv and my license plate is above the bumper so that I think eliminates the light problem as most headlights are aimed toward the ground, and it is under a ridge that keeps it dry. I am very pleased overall.

isnt it easy to steal??

Posted Jan 05, 2007 · 01:47 UTC#9

um, you can steal part of it but not the wiring in full. but unless your rather electrically inclined, you arent using what you stole since the wire would likely be cut. Not to mention, I dont park or leave my vehicle anywhere where I am not comfortable that things will be fine when i return.

The whole vehicle is easy to steal.

I have it on my Honda Ody. The license plate is on the tailgate and the camera is around the headlight level. That's why I have this problem. I should turn the camera toward the ground little bit. It may help...

putting something in the line of sight of the camera helps with point of reference. such as a bumper, so you know how close your bumper is to whatever object your backing up to. try to use the something that is furthest out of your vehicle if you can

I've got two of the Pioneer backup cameras for sale - both new in original package - one was opened to read manual and see how it installs.

Ordered Pioneer backup camera and Bluetooth adapter and Internet store sent two camers. Tried to fit one camera on 2006 Miata but no way to do so easily on that car. Ended up buying a camera in licence frame.

Anyone interested in buying one, just email me with an offer.

I recently installed the SVP5600 Platecam backup camera from CrimeStoppers. It is built into a licence plate frame.

Their site is: http://www.crimestopper.com/

The only negative I can say about it is that when it rains or if your in snow, it does effect the lens, but I would have to believe that this is true with any camera. It is very adjustable as far as dimming, color, hue, contrast goes.

Here is a photo of mine installed.

As you can see, it blends in very well.

Hi there

i put this one on my truck

it is made by crimestopper and if you do a search for it you should find it for around 160-200 for the camera

the quality of the picture from the camera is amazing there is only 1 downfall at night you cant see squat i added 2 work lights to workaround the problem

not a bad camera, in fact crimestopper is being sued for copyright infringement on that piece. The original creator has one that is a little better, it rotates the lense so your not stuck with that angle of view. the crimestopper piece is also plastic, where as the original creator is metal. Personally I prefer metal as apposed to plastic.

OT, but that is the best state motto EVER.

I had this one installed yesterday. Absolutely love it. I have an 06 4Runner and the door handle protects it from rain. Got it on E-Bay for $145 delivered. It also comes in plastic.

that looks exactly like the one I am referring to. I have some of them infact. The ones I have are metal and either black color or chrome. I sell them for about 120. though it is not a full frame, it is the upper portion only.

I have the vtl110 installed. It is similar to the vtl300 mentioned by johul except that it is chrome. It has a .3 lux rating and I find it to be very sensitive to light. I finally figured out that the Z1 allows me to adjust the brightness and this allowed me to get a better picture. So far I am very happy with the look of the camera and the quality of the image. The only issue I have is a little noise in the image which I will correct with a noise suppressor.

I have recently bought one off of Tillithz and I'm quite happy with it... It's a solid piece with no Bs plasticy frills... Trust worthy source at a good price... I'll report more info as I learn more about mine...

Posted Jan 30, 2007 · 20:21 UTC#23

you get it installed yet rodge?

Posted Jan 30, 2007 · 22:18 UTC#24

tillithz,

Let's see some pics of the cameras you stock and please give us your opinion on each one.

Posted Jan 30, 2007 · 22:30 UTC#25

They are both the same except one is Chrome and one is Black. Again, they are made of a rugged all weather metal, that won't break or crack. I'll post a pic once I get home... I haven't installed it yet...
