I just recently upgraded my 4200 to a AVIC-Z130 and I love it. However, my concerns are the following as I don't understand why it won't work.

-Night mode will not come on even with it set to automatic for GPS viewing as the day screen is way to bright

-Viewing the rear view camera doesn't work when I split the screen for both GPS and rear view camera as you are able to according to the manual. reversing works just fine when I put the car in reverse.

-Is the only way to bypass this unit is the one posted in the hacks via youtube? Do I get full functionality as if I was stationary.

Thanks for your help.

1. Illumination wire isn't connected.

2. Camera is connected to reverse power, not acc power.

3. I haven't watched the youtube one, but yes, a correctly done bypass will allow all features while in motion.

1&2 are both common "shortcuts" taken by "lazy" installers.

thanks for the quick response, I always figured that was a "lazy" installer thing to do. Now I gotta go inside and correct it, geesh. The illumination wire is a simple fix, the reversing camera is the fault of the shop that did my deck 6 months ago as I just asked the new shop to install it.
