So the most we can do here is 32gb SD card and 32gb USB storage -- both formatted FAT32?

I'm not going to get many albums loaded up if I use WAV format ...

And does anyone have a better answer to the file sorting issue other than downloading DiskSort or FolderSort from the internet?

Thanks.  John

dont have any problem getting more storage by using an Ipod...

...also there doesnt seem to be any problems with file sorting either.

Not being sarcastic, just want to know why invest in an IPOD when you have so many other options available. I've crammed every song I own on a DVD, USB memory stick, and a 16 gig Micro and they all worked just fine. Not to mention connecting my RAZR via the Bluetooth and playing whatever is on the phone. So again, why invest in an IPOD? What am I missing here?

I think the issue is that there are folder and file count limitations on USB or SD ... iPod is an external device that manages it's own file system and therefore avoids those restrictions.

What I don't know though is if you can display and navigate the iPod directory structure on the AVIC screen in the same way you do with USB or SD.  With bluetooth from my iPhone I certainly cannot -- so I have my USB and SD cards loaded to the hilt.

Well not to beat the old horse but what if you put 349 separate folders with say 250 files in each with no sub folders. Would that be a possibility of getting around this.

I'll be trying my theory tonight but was wondering if anyone else has tried this.

I guess I don't understand why so many have difficulty with this simple function.  As I said above, I installed a USB plug right under the AVIC and have no difficulty playing whatever I want. I find the sticks much more convenient than the little SD card, Bluetooth or IPOD type device. But the SD also has music and a video or two, If you can navigate in any Windows file manager, you can do the same with these radio's. Sure you have to copy the music in some logical fashion to the stick or card, but I haven't seen an IPOD that comes right out of the box having the music I enjoy.  And I have yet to run into any file number limitation on a stick. Any way you look at it, both are about the same. I think some people just like to complain.
