I have an AVIC F90BT and just updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and now it will not connect to my F90BT, anyone else having this problem?
iOS 5 and F90BT
i have been using 5.0 for about a week now on my f700bt and it works perfect (aside from that damn bluetooth issue)
try to restore the iphone again. better yet set it up as a new phone and manually add everything back on.
Are you able to play videos? I'm on the production version of IOS5 on an iPhone 4. I can play music just fine via the iPod input, but the minute I swtich to video, my X710BT restarts. I'm wondering if any of this has to do with the fact that IOS5 has split the video and music IPod functiond between two apps now.
I did Reset my Iphone as a new one , but I still can't play any music or videos on my F90BT.
maybe pioneer needs to come up with an update for the software.

My x710bt (which is basically the same as your F90bt) will play music at least.....what version of software are you on? I'm on 3.0201.
I'm on one of the 2.0 software versions, no music or video, the source selection just says "usb" and is grayed out when my iPhone is connected, then works fine with any other iPhone (not on iOS 5) and my iPod classic.
Well, it would appear then you might be able to at least get music working but upgrading to 3.0 via one of the hack methods or buying a map upgrade.

I do have the 3. something too.

What iPhone? 3GS or 4G?

I also tried a 3GS that has been upgraded to iOS 5. Music works fine, but my X710BT reboots if I try to press the video tab. I can play back the audio of a video podcast with no issues in the music mode.
Same Problem Here! Running iOS 5 on an iPhone 4 and my AVIC F90BT was updated using CNSD-100FM. Everytime i press the video tab, my unit reboots!!!!! i'm still able to play music!
I've got same issue after upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS5. My f900bt device cannot able to play iPod/iPhone videos any more. When connected my iPhone to device and when pressing the video button on iPod screen, my device restart itself... Any solution or advice?
I've tried a few things, but no success. I opened a ticket with Pioneer this weekend. I'm not extremely hopeful, but then again they did release a map update and firmware fixes for v3.xx and v4.xx units in Europe a few months ago.
I'm in EU and using CNSD-100FM version. I'm not upgrade to 3.021000 or CNSD-200FM yet but I don't think upgrading one of these version will fix my problem
I opened a ticket with Pioneer also, but I guess I have to wait...
My experience with pioneer customer service was worse, because they had no idea of this situation and they didn't even know that pioneer would release an update.

Well, I'm in the US...so hopefully we're dealing with two different support organizations, doubling our slim chances of getting a real response!
I had a look at the individual file versions of the latest US and EU firmwares:

As you can see, the iPod.dll and iPodCP.dll versions unfortunately appear to be the same.
I've done a little more research, AVICs are definately not the only car radio or A/V dock that is having issues with IOS5. There have also been other issues with the programs that use video out. I'm beginning to think Apple has broken more than a few things with the Ipod functionality of IOS 5. Good news is that we are much more likely to see a fix from Apple than Pioneer. I think we're just going to have to hold on and wait for some IOS 5 bug fixes.
Assuming we might never get a fix for this, I have been experimenting with using streaming video instead of syncing video via iTunes. In the process I ran across a very good and simple to setup streaming app called Air Video. Basically, you install a server on a computer at home and point it to various directories on the computer where you have video stored. You then buy a $3 app for the iPhone, there is a free version you can test with.
The nice thing is that it can convert many file types in real time at various qualities depending on your preferences and the type of connection you are on. However the most impressive thing is how efficient the conversion (transcoding) process is. I'm getting very respectable results with smooth video streams on a dual core Intel Atom based PC, by no means a fast computer. So, I suspect almost any old computer you might have lying around would suffice for a server.
To see it on your AVIC, you just set the AV1 input instead on iPod and select AV1 as the input.
I called Pioneer yesterday just to see what they would say. They did acknowledge the issue and said their engineers are working on it. But they couldn't tell me that they would able to fix the issue. It sounded like it was possible that as far as using video with an ipod that has IOS 5. They may be out of luck. The guy on the phone actually suggested that I jailbreak my ipod touch and downgrade the firmware. I wasn't expecting that response.
I just go off the phone with Apple and they made it sound like it's up to Pioneer to come up this a firmware up-date to address the problem. I've sent pioneer a couple of service requests on the issue and they want me to call them back but I haven't had time to get back with them. Let's all keep bugging them and hopefully they'll get the idea they need to fix this problem.
By the way the Pioneer unit I have is the F-90BT, the Apple I'm having the problem with is the iPhone 4s which has the iOS 5. My second generation iPod touch with an older operating system works fine.
Yeah I'm using the iPhone 4S with the iOS 5 too, and can't get video with my F900-BT or my X910-BT. I'm sending a 900-BT in for password retrieval on Monday so I'll ask about this issue then.
