In case anyone was wondering, as of right now the app radio 2 does not work with android 4.1 Jelly bean. Doesn't respond to any input in the apps menu and I haven't been able to successfully connect Pandora.

Hopefully Pioneer will take care of that asap, they kinda slack when it comes down to software development...

That's good to know. I was planning on upgrading in the next day or so...

I have gotten much further, I was able to successfully link my GN running Jelly Bean to my AP2. Several issues tho that I am seeing is that almost every other time I connect it it wan'ts to run the finger calibration. Also everything on the main screen everything works and is touchable however when I hit the apps icon everything comes up but nothing is press-able. Now Pandora on the other hand did not work until I re installed it on my GN it just kept saying can't connect until I realized I did not re-install Pandora. Bluetooth worked fine after I paired my GN to AP2 I was able to make and receive calls. I'm able to run any app off my phone and have it perfectly displayed on AP2. Honestly they just need to do a little adjusting to make it fully functional I just hope Pioneer is on it. I emailed them to suggest they get it going and I suggest everyone else does to because they aren't going to do anything unless they know there is a problem. Well there ya go any other questions just ask.

Just the standard one from their support section. You have to fill in your info first it's like a small form then it sends an email to them.

So as of now I had to flash back to ICS because of AP2 not being fully functional with JB. If you need to flash back just use this method and you'll be fine. http://www.droid-lif...rom/#more-71061

I am running into the same thing on mine with 4.1. Love 4.1 so I am not going back to ics, and will just deal around this for now.

I can do the finger calibration but it doesn't recognise finger presses after that. Video and music play just fine. BT phone works fine. For now I just set it up so that when I plug it in the music auto starts. My long term goal is to find a used ipod that I can plug in for a permanent music solution, then just plug in my phone when I want to access apps.

Just fyi the email response I got from Pioneer was that the Galaxy Nexus is not supported by Appradio 2! Once I walked them by the hand to show them where it shows that it is compatible the emails stopped. So I don't know how much concern they are going to have at the moment. But again I ask any of you guys to please email them if nothing else just to get this issue noticed. :)

That's just awesome! Got to love dollar an hour call centres.

Emailed and app rated, hopefully it gets fixed quickly.

Did some rating myself. There is so much potential with this deck, but there is a lot of work needed to make it worth the asking price.

Yes totally! there is so much here it can be huge for Pioneer as I put in a review for them. They could be sitting on a gold mine and can corner the market IF they put in the time and development. The ball is in their court it's up to them how much gold they see.

Picked up a used ipod for cheap (free) that works with the deck. Seems the best of all worlds. Now I only have to plug in the phone when I want to use an actual app. Phone and music no longer require being tethered to my phone.

It's a good thing to, as appradio when from being non responsive to constantly rebooting itself. I had to force kill it. J4.1 is so nice though I can wait...

Here was Pioneer's response from their warrant/service email address...

Haven't called yet, my original email was pretty vague since I only got my AR2 in the mail today...

It's definitely a quick-fix, but I'm too much of a (self-admitted) Android fanboy to give Apple any money...

So your sticking with Jelly Bean for now? I switched back to ICS doing a full wipe and install and my AP2 has never worked better.

Oh and one more quick tip for an easy solution to the keyboard problem. I came across this stupidly simple app while browsing it let's you switch between one keyboard for portrait mode and one keyboard for landscape mode. And since the AP2 automatically puts your phone in landscape mode it's the perfect simple solution. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ne0fhykLabs.android.utility.kmLauncher&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5uZTBmaHlrTGFicy5hbmRyb2lkLnV0aWxpdHkua21MYXVuY2hlciJd

Which keyboard problem? I didn't see it on the first page of the thread\

Thanks

It's Jelly bean 4.1 , most people are running Ice cream sandwich (4.0) and have no issues. As for the keyboard it's because the AP2 wants you to use it's own Pioneer keyboard no other keyboard will they let you use. So you must install the Pioneer keyboard app and use it any time you want to type on the touchscreen. This app let's you tell your phone to use it automatically without you having to switch to it every time you want to use it.

Ah, thanks for the keyboard explaination...

I know about Jelly Bean, but you said you flashed back to ICS...I'm asking if you flashed back to ICS 4.0.4 in particular, since this thread (http://avic411.com/i...ndered-useless/) said 4.0.4 was unusable also...

Oh got ya well I see that thread is talking about the Motorola Razr and a problem with ICS. I have a Galaxy Nexus and have no problems with it on ICS with the AP2.

I was running into a huge mobile data consumption problem on 4.0.4, JB solved it and the added features are awesome! I might be more tempted to go back if I didn't have an ipod for music. I just asked around for a used one and kept trying until I found one free that worked. Its a 2gb ipod mini, though I am working on getting a 16gb ipod video for next to nothing. Apple will never see another dime of my money, the sooner they perish the better far as I am concerned...

I get absolutely nothing now. The phone still connects via bluetooth, but plugging in the mhl connector gives me nothing. I killed and re-installed the app and still nothing.

What's weird is I couldn't even get the deck to just play the mhl feed, flipping the ebrake switch did nothing.

Holy crap! make sure you report that in the review of the app. It sounds like they went totally backwards!
