I just spoke with someone at pioneer who has confirmed they have been working on this and will hope to have a release in the next couple weeks.
JB 4.1 support should be coming soon
Whats JB 4.1 ?
Jelly Bean.
ah sorry d'uh ![]()
lol had to google Jelly Bean. Guess I´m an Apple Nerd ![]()
Good news! Hopefully CM10 will roll out with MHL support for my S3 soon.
Jellybean support will need to roll out soon. The S3 is rumoured to be getting JB by the end of this month and it's the best selling Android device by far.
I doubt that CM10 will support MHL any time soon. I remember reading somewhere in the XDA thread that it probably won't include it at all since it's not part of the AOSP code.
THANK GOD!!!!
I won't hold my breath, I may not make it... ![]()
How sure are you about this? No one has heard a word from Pioneer and things were not looking good at all.I just spoke with someone at pioneer who has confirmed they have been working on this and will hope to have a release in the next couple weeks.
Everytime I call Pioneer they tell me "The OTA Update is what caused the problems, it's not on their end they can't fix it" . All I can tell you is it's been a looonnnnggg time since I had an AppRadio2 that worked. I did the unthinkable and purchased a "iTouch" just to have something to listen to. It kinda defeated the purpose of buying the AppRadio2. Not only did I pay more for Android Connectivity ( that doesn't connect) but I had to buy an iTouch. So far it's a 600 dollar Am/Fm radio (the AppRadio2 and iTouch) and I'm wearing a bluetooth headset while driving. Pioneer really Sh*t the bed.
I just put CM10 on the S3 and was pleased to discover that MHL works. I don't have to authorize the Bluetooth connection on every startup anymore either. When they add Jelly Bean support to the Appradio .apk file everything will work perfectly on my end.

If they do. I wouldn't hold my breath on what is reported in this thread.
Meaning Blue?

which rom specif? Can you get audio/video from your phone through the stereo? just no touch control?
Yeah, which CM10 did you load? I tried a few builds ago and get nothing when connecting MHL on my Sprint phone. As soon as its working, I'm going back to JB though, its amazing.
I put the 8/14 build of CM on. Didn't try anything with sound until today though. Video works, but no sound. ![]()
It's really nice not having to accept the Bluetooth connection every time. It'll be nice when they get everything working.
Got a voicemail from Pioneer today in response to an email I sent them about the Jelly Bean update. The guy just said to call him back which I don't have time today but he did actually mention a Jelly Bean update. I almost passed out it looks like they are actually working on it so yay!
Well that is certainly a good sign. Especially sense someone actually called you back. Please keep the forum posted.

More then I got... Promised callback never happened... No email replies either...
Pioneer Canada didn't even know the Nexus was compatible.
Pioneer Canada doesn't even have the 8.17 update listed on their website yet. lol
AOKP or CM10 do not work with this unit on a Samsung S3. I've tried both after wiping everything and they just put my phone into a permanent restarting mode. Does Pioneer have one tech support guy programming updates for this unit? There hasn't been a change in any update since this unit came out for androids, and god knows this unit needs a TON of updates just to get it out of alpha stage.

I assume you've already done the v8.15 and/or the latest v8.17 firmware update? http://pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/AppRadio/AppRadio+2+%28SPH-DA100%29
This firmware update (v8.17) contains the following improvements:
-
Increased accuracy during touch panel use.
-
Improved recognition of devices connected with an MHL adapter.
-
Faster response when utilizing REAR VIEW mode.
yes, instead of having to turn off my car and back on again about 50% of the time i connected it, I have have to turn off my car about 10% of the time when it wont' connect. my bad... that was a change lol
It's nice to know they're working on getting 4.1 to work when they can't even get 4.0.4 to work!
FYI, Samsung is still working on getting the pixel cutoff issues fixed as far as I know.I just put CM10 on the S3 and was pleased to discover that MHL works. Here is an email I just recieved from Pioneer. I will be in touch and let you guys know what happens.... Our engineers are looking into the 4.1 software and working on a solution.
They do have a couple questions regarding your specific phone.
In one of your previous E-mails, you mentioned you have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Is this still correct?
Who is your service provider?
The 4.1 operating system, did your provider push this update directly to you or did you root the phone and install it yourself?
Thanks for taking the time to provide the requesting information. Once I receive the information I will forward it to our engineers. In return, I will forward any update I receive from them.
