Hi all,

Does anyone know if the new firmware released on 10/11/13 v4.6 / 5.1 apply to a Z120 that was upgraded to Z140?

Thanks!

Yes it should.

A word of caution for those considering this - there are two firmware updates listed on the site in the same place. Be sure to download the update appropriate for your situation since one is a firmware update for models that have never been updated, and the other one is for those that have been updated before.

No, it won't work on your unit. This is a patch update, not an upgrade to Z140 software form Z110/120.

WOW.. THanks for this becuase I was definately about to try this.    I too Have a 110-130bt that I would like to step here up a bit also.

I think RonS was referring to using this as an update to bring your unit from a 120 to 140, which this update will not do.  This is an update for those who have already upgraded to (or currently own as a base model) a Z140.

Has anyone with a Z120 (or Z110, Z130) tested this update on their unit that has already been upgraded to a Z140 to see if this patch worked?  I was thinking of trying it, but was scared.

I just did the update to my Z120bt that has Z140bh update. Previously "Application Version" was 4.010 and now its 4.600.

Only weird part was when it was in “Program forced write [system uCom Write]†to update uCom version to 8.05, it didn't work on mine. :?

So I just hold the eject button for 10 second and let go the button to open the screen, so I took the SD card out and restart the HU(turn ur car off and on).

Then I check the “Service Information Screenâ€, "Application Version" got update to 4.600.

Also I did the bluetooth firmware update to version 3.32.

Just follow pioneer instruction for this updates. Here is the link.

Hope this helps~~~ Good Luck PPL~~!!

Nice, i'll have to give this a shot later today.  I'm dying to find some way of getting an iPhone 5S to work with my Z120 head unit.

This update worked for me - I didn't update the uCom (it must have been updated already, it was set to -----).  I haven't been able to play around with it just yet (too frickin' cold outside) but i'll let you know what I come across soon.

Did you get any actual benefit or use out of this aside from the bluetooth update and the camera gridlines?  I didn't find any actual use for it and it ended up being detrimental for myself and another user.  Check out this thread http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/37506-z140-iphone-5-firmware-in-z130/page-2

is anyone running this or anything higher? Or is the 2012 maps the best thing to do on a z130bt

i have a z12 with hacked upgrade to z14...not having luck with this upgrade....i tried using the firmware update for units that had previously been updated but the sd card showed ------- on the upgrade page, i tried downloading file again and putting on a fresh formatted SD card and same result, so i used the file meant for units not upgraded and it went through the upgrade process as soon as i put the sd card in, but when it booted up to the update ucom screen the sd card had the same ------- on it and my ucom was 8.01 not 8.05,  everything on the system appears the same except that the ipod no longer works and looks much different on the screen (looks like its appradio now)   any help would be appreciated...let me know what other info i can supply. thanks

more interesting....put my truck in reverse and the camera screen is different, so does that mean the update worked?

I upgraded my z110 to z140 using latest 2013 map update and it is now on version 5.

When i tried 5.1 update from pioneer website, its not upgrading unit.

Am i missing something. Or 5.1 is only for Z140bh and z110 can't be upgraded to it?

Posted Apr 03, 2014 · 00:27 UTC#16

Ok. May be I was thinking it wrong.

When it upgraded version is 5.000 but application version is 5.100

5.1 update says to check for uboot version 8.05 or earlier but after upgrade to 5 version my uboot version is 8.12 hence it does not update.

All 5.1 changes are verified like camera lines and appradio. Also removed nag screen which I was looking forward to.

hey drpaul, I ended up upgrading my software to 5.0 2013 maps on my z130bt then tried the 5.1 update also in hopes I could get the cd-iv202navi cable to work with iphone 5s for appradio again but it is funky and I am looking to revert back to 5.0. did you make any progress taking out the 5.1?

SAME PROBLEM HERE

Posted Apr 28, 2014 · 00:49 UTC#19

Hi,

I did the 2013 maps update, I could not get the mute function to operate using bluetooth. This appears to have fixed it, in addition to better ipod performance. I used the 5.1 version.

This site is great.

If I am reading correctly it can be done. Can someone help orzo point me in the rite direction or I will sell it and buy another app radio 3. It worked so well. I got talked into this radio ut if it isn't capable to do what I want then I will give it back n buy something that will. Thank u to anyone that can help

If you have the 2013 maps then you should already be upgraded to the 140. In order to use the i5 you have to have the CD-IV202NAVI connection kit plus the Apple VGA adapter.
