That I will agree with. Pioneer is tops on sound quality.
AVIC-8000NEX
The only downside is the NX604 isn't coming out until June per a few retailers. I really want the NX504 which is the same unit without a CD/DVD transport which I'll never use.
Aw is this true? I thought March was the release date.
I have a z2 that's finally crapping out on me, and was going to get a app 3, but it doesn't have dual zone, so I'm looking at an 8000 for the dual zone support. What kept me away from app radios in the past has been the sluggish response. I love pioneer just didn't want to drop 1400.00 on a head unit. Was even thinking of ipad mini in dash too. But still would have to do something. For my back seat tv's.
My guy finally got the 8000 at thier shop, install scheduled for Friday
Has anyone been able to confirm yet what type of bypass is required for the AVIC-8000NEX? The Z150BH needed a pin added to the RCA harness which got ground along with the parking brake wire.
How's anyone know the bypass if the unit hasn't been released yet? It will come. Give it time.

You're in a hurry for a head unit that may not work properly?
Regarding the bypass: I installed a relay bypass for the parking brake on the 7000NEX I installed. Within a few miles, the 7000NEX recognized that the car was moving, gave an error message along the lines of "unit has detected that parking circuit is miswired", and locked out the parking brake functions whenever it saw movement faster than about 5 mph. From this point on, every time the unit turned on, it gave this warning message (and required you to press "ok" to acknowledge it) and still locked out the parking brake.
In sum, I couldn't find a way to bypass the parking brake interlock. The unit uses GPS info to cross reference against the parking circuit.
Also, my shop said my 7000NEX had be recalled by Pioneer. I un-installed the unit, and returned it earlier today. I have no idea if the 8000NEX will have the same (and many) problems that I found with the 7000NEX.
AVICs have always been a two wire bypass. A relay won't cut it.
Give a few days to a few weeks and someone will find it. Look for Soundman to upload a video of it when they figure it put.

Looks like I need to reach out to my shop. I'm finding numerous threads on this forum of people finding the 8000 units in their shops.
Can you elaborate on this recall, diablo2112? I contacted my local Pioneer Rep and he has not heard of any NEX recalls. Its hard to believe that Pioneer screwed something up so badly that it cant be resolved by an end-user firmware update.
I have no more information than what my local shop told me earlier this week. See my thread on the 7000NEX for all the details. Many, many problems with this unit, all detailed in that thread. It was my local dealer that said it was recalled and to return the unit, which I did.
Pioneer just announced on their FaceBook page that all NEX units have just shipped out. I guess we all should start seeing the 8000 units within the next 2 weeks
My shop (www.audioconnection.com) has the 8000 units in! They just called me to schedule my appointment. Tentatively it's on Wednesday the 2nd, assuming they have all the parts available and ready to make work in an Audi. WOOHOOO!!! Expect pics within a week.
I got mine last night installed using everything but the USB adapter to give my APPRADIO3 a second USB (has 2 nowhere to put this guy) Sounds much better than the AR3, is faster . I still like my Garmin NAV & think I'll keep using it. For the drive to work this morning no moving issues on the way home parking brake error.
Found this, did it am about to drive for the first time.
