so i was going to go to the shop tomorrow but i couldnt wait any longer. so i stopped by today to see it. i didnt have the funds with me today so i didnt pick it up.

so the nex 8000, the screen wasnt turned on yet but it was just amazing still. the screen was glass or very hard acrylic plastic. either way its just like my cell phone. feels really nice when i touched it.

i was the one who opened this very first unit that they got. it is mine ;)

i wish i had time to turn it on but im not worried, ill play with it when i install it this week. im also picking up the satellite tuner to go with it. i may also pick up a set of alpine type R speakers for the front and rear.

ill be back tomorrow.

here is some eye candy for the mean time.

It's so freaking ridiculous, this is not supposed to be..The 8000 is supposed to be delayed..I don't know what to say I just got a 7000NEX overnighted will be here today and this happens out of left field.  The other guy who bought one at Caraudiogiants for $929, have you heard anything from them?  I actually emailed them Sunday to cancel my order but Im going to keep it now, maybe I'll give them a call later.

Posted Mar 26, 2014 · 14:09 UTC#4

what i am guessing is that which ever store actually has them yesterday are fully authorized pioneer dealers.

if you guys have questions or need help just pm me. ill do what i can while these are in stock.

my shop says there will be a shortage after these batches are gone. pioneer told them that there is a large demand and that they have estimated they wont be able to make enough for the first few months.

my shop doesn't have em yet :(

I too ordered through caraudiogiants.  I asked them about when to see these ship.   Bummed seeing these on shelves and in cars yet mine is still not shipped.

same here I ordered through CarAudioGiants. I called Monday they told me it will be in this week. Im going to call today to see what they say. My truck is just waiting for this. Im like a little kid looking for a tracking number email. I feel like i might have been scammed.

And it's no longer available on their website. Doesn't exist.

I think caraudiogiants got in trouble with Pioneer.  They still have a few units on their site but the NEX are removed.  I received two phone calls from them and a couple emails saying they goofed up on the price.  If they were scamming, why bother calling me twice to apologize.   Pioneer "officially" announced the release 2 days ago.  If I don't see actual shipping/tracking movement by next Friday, I will start the refund/dispute process. I think we will see notifications that they have shipped next week.

I only received one phone call and that was on March 3rd saying that it was delayed and that it will ship to them by the 15th. Didn't receive a call about the goofed up price.

I just called. They said I should've received a tracking # via email and to check my spam folder. I told them that I misspelled my email. And they corrected it and sent it to me again. "They should be receiving it today and it will ship out Monday.

Heres my setup so far. Its going into a 2007 Chrysler Aspen Hemi. Factory Nav SUCKS BALLS. I already installed the back up camera to get one thing out of the way. I have to remove the factory DVD player and add this one to it. 13.5 hdmi DVD player. I fabricated a cover since the factory dvd player is longer than the dvd player. (OEM is big no reason) Made it out MDF board with 3/8" thick headliner foam with cream leather to match the interior. Cant wait to start. Also the speakers are all connected already. I upgraded them about 2 months ago.

i'm going to try the double pulse relay switch. Ill let you guys know by the end of the week if it works or not.

Posted Mar 30, 2014 · 04:51 UTC#20

cool!

I had someone tell me from the store that the old double pulse method did not work, that's why I didn't order the pac tr-7 unit.

but let us know if what I heard is wrong.

Working Bypass for Avic NEX units! Ok first off I'm new to this forum, but I'm a 24 year veteran custom intallation specialist, and the technician at an authorized pioneer repair center. That being said I coulnd't find a better place on this forum to post this but I have a confirmed motion bypass. The double pulse doesn't work. I tried it just to see if there was something to it but no such luck which is probabley a good thing since the bypass method i know of is easier lol. I installed an Avic-7000NEX and did a semi custom molded dash in my newer Suzuki Grand Vitara to accommodate the motorized face. They still haven't figured a way to make the motorized face usable in most standard dash kits  :?  but anyway here is the bypass. I should first tell you that reguardless if you do the bypass, if you hook the brake wire to ground it will work for a little while until the nav auto calibtares and it gives you the imporoperly hooked up brake wire error. The bypass is however just that simple, plus 1 extra step. Ground the parking brake wire, then on the av screen select off to turn the unit off, and then push the screen in the left corner about a half inch up and a half inch to the right and hold it for aproximately 10 to 15 seconds. The unit will fash in small print "set on" in the middle of the screen and your bypass is complete. It took me a second to get it the first time finding the right spot and such, but I garantee it really will work .

Enjoy and I hope this wasn't already posted, but I couldn't find it if it was.

Thanks for the info. The bypass thread is the very first thread. Stays at the top. But kudos.
