MOD NOTE!!! This will be the official bypass thread for the AVIC NEX series. Please follow these directions to the letter to achieve the proper bypass.

Did some research on the new NEX 8000. By useing the old pioneer quadrant technology you can bypass the in motion safety shutdown.

Step 1 ground parking brake wire

Step 2 turn power on push main menu button (bottom center)

Step 3 push AV icon (bottom center)

Step 4 on AV icon screen push off button (towards bottom)

Step 5 touch quadrant 4 (half inch in and half inch up from left lower corner of touch screen) hold your finger there for about 10-12 seconds. "set on" icon will appear that means you are done.

Enjoy Safely ;)

Question, do you still need a micro bypass or do you just ground the park brake wire permanently???

Posted Mar 29, 2014 · 03:13 UTC#3

Is this a one time procedure or does it have to be done every time the head unit is powered up?

ground parking brake wire permanently. This is a one time procedure

do you have to do steps 3-5 every time you start the vehicle or no? just to clarify.

Hey Eric,

Do you have a video showing this by any chance? I am a little confused with the steps and can't seem to get it to work on mine.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I tried this and got it on the first try, very easy, I played a DVD for a test and drove it about 12 miles with no problems so far.

It works on my 8000. :)

Posted Apr 03, 2014 · 01:18 UTC#12

Has anyone had success with this on the 7000?

Posted Apr 03, 2014 · 01:40 UTC#13

when we unplug the battery will we need to redo this procedure everytime?

Posted Apr 03, 2014 · 02:38 UTC#14

This works on my 5000.

Posted Apr 03, 2014 · 08:20 UTC#15

Confirmed!!

Most likely. Pioneer units have no memory retention if the battery is disconnected.

Is this expected to work on the 4000nex?

Posted Apr 04, 2014 · 06:56 UTC#22

No one will know until it is tried and reported here.

I have the 5000 and I'm not finding the sweet spot for step 5 is it by the arrows point downwards? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Posted Apr 04, 2014 · 16:00 UTC#24

did it to my nex8000.

little message popped up.

Posted Apr 05, 2014 · 02:38 UTC#25

I didn't ground the parking brake. I just held it long enough to get the EULA and did the bypass and now it's good to go. Hasn't asked me about parking brake either. This is on a 8000nex. Thanks installereric.
