Good morning y'all. Sorry if haven't posted in the last few hours. My truck was hit last night while it was parked. The family and were watching TV around 1135pm. And I heard a loud bang. I thought someone was breaking into the house. I quickly checked out the window. And saw a car next to my truck.

I ran downstairs and saw that this guy was drunk. I wasn't upset. Looked like just my back bumper needs a touch up. And the guy abandoned the car. After police came and tow truck came and pulled the car out. I noticed that my rear passenger wheel is pushed in. A hole probably messed up my chassis or bent my axel forward. Now the wheel is touching the wheel well. I just took my radio out. It's going to the shop on Monday or Tuesday. Just had to vent. Thanks. Pissed right now.

That sucks man, sorry

Damn. So your car is done? Can't be repaired?

Posted Apr 20, 2014 · 01:40 UTC#4

Sorry bro. If you're anything like me, a little scratch or ding makes me feel like it's totaled. I feel your pain. Hope everything turn out, and your body man is good!

God damn...sorry to hear that Dre!!

Posted Apr 20, 2014 · 06:31 UTC#6

Not totaled. Gonna have a claim rep come down to see the damage. Probably gotta get on the machine and realign the chassis or the axle

Posted Apr 20, 2014 · 06:41 UTC#7

Can't drive it. Rear right wheel is rubbing the wheel well

Posted Apr 22, 2014 · 16:18 UTC#8

So what's the story?

Posted Apr 22, 2014 · 19:11 UTC#9

Still waiting for the adjuster to come look at it

Posted Apr 22, 2014 · 21:06 UTC#10

Sounds like you have full coverage. That's a blessing.

Posted Apr 22, 2014 · 23:43 UTC#11

Actually I don't. The other guys insurance is going to cover it. But once it's fix. Believe I will be adding it.

Sorry to hear.  Hopefully it won't be too long before you're back on the road and enjoying the NEX.

Thankfully you got the other guys insurance. It sounds like his insurance is either gonna sky rocket or they are gonna drop him entirely. Drenyce311 make sure you go over the car throughly when you get it back. The other guys insurance are gonna try to fix your whip at the cheapest rate possible. Not to your benefit.

Double that...

Also check under the car as well. I had my car sent to a shop and they used the wrong jack points and there is a huge dent in the bottom frame where the car caved in some what.

Check for orange peel, where the paint looks textured...

Well i am pissed right now. The owner of the vehicle reported the car stolen. Now their investigating, SMH. Seems like I am at a loss and am going to fix it out of pocket

Oh no.... Sounds like dude is playing games to get out of paying for the damage..... That's bull...

Forgive what may be an obvious question but do you or the police know when the stolen vehicle report was made with the police?

Or was it just reported to their insurance company.

I'm just curious to know if it was before or after the time of accident.

A few years ago my parked vehicle was relocated (probably by a non-permit holding movie production company or other wrongful tow) in the Lower East Side a few blocks south of Houston street.   After failing to find my parked vehicle I assumed it was stolen, so I called the insurance company and they said call the police for a incident #.  The police met me at it's last known location and documented everything including time of theft & time of report.   Shortly after that I found my vehicle by chance - parked several blocks away with nothing missing and no damage - but obvious signs of an intruder existed.

Do you think you could identify and describe the driver who appeared drunk to the police?

Thats the thing. I called the police right away when it happened. As for the when the owner reported the car stolen. I dont know. Im hoping the investigator puts two and two together. And yes I know what he looks like.

Wow - if the other car owner is lying about the theft they're going to be in even bigger trouble.  I hope the cops / investigator figure it out & move quickly on this too.

Now I have to come to work 1/2 hour late and leave 1/2 hour early everyday. I gotta get home before the wife leaves to school and work and little man gets dropped off. Its just a inconvience and stressful situation. Looking into ZIPCAR in the meantime while my truck gets fixed.

Was keys in car, or signs of being stolen have the police said?

Posted May 08, 2014 · 18:39 UTC#25

Guy took the key fob. It was push start. There was house keys. I spoke to the guy before he ran off. When the police arrived they ran the plates. NYPD said it wasnt reported stolen. All the hassle. SMH. Well thier insurance just called me to schedule an adjuster to come monday to look at the truck.
