Ordered mine from SONIC ELECTRONIX on their ebay link yesterday, it shipped that day. UPS says it will arrive on 03-06-07

BlueLagoonUSA has it for < $820 shipped but the question is can this company be trusted??? I have not read any reviews on them. Anyone use them before?

Posted Mar 01, 2007 · 17:46 UTC#4

bluelagoon has it for 800 bucks but their customer service is from 4 pm to 10 PM  ...otherwise contact them on AOL or AIM...it seems EXTREMELY SHADY

I've never heard of them, but I know I won't be ordering from them based on the fact that they're not well known.

Park Ave Electronics, $774 + $25 shipping, in stock.

Can't beat that with a stick... I had to stop myself from ordering 2.

Park Ave Total: $799.78 Question: Have you guys ordered from them before? How is the Customer service?

The cheapest I was able to get it on Crutchfield was $934.97 and that included the Sirius and IPOD add ons.

good luck buddy... just go on google and type in park ave electronics reviews..... i think the highest they get is 1... nothing but horror stories

^^^^ I think that just answered my question!

Crutchfield it is, for now!

Posted Mar 01, 2007 · 21:35 UTC#10

I ordered over the phone (spoke to someone who confirmed availability and price) and used my CC. Worst case scenario visa will get me my money back. I'm not too concerned, but for the price I have to try!

I'll post next week with how the order went (assuming I get it!) but... here's to hoping I've stumbled upon a bargain.

edit: I just realized they have a big banner on their site that says "under new management"... I only hope that means better things too.

Hey all,

New to the forum, and glad to be here! I have been a Pioneer/Premier enthusiast, since I bought my first deck back in 95. I have just ordered the D3 directly from Pioneer through employee accommodations and it should be here soon! I think the D3 is really gonna set a high mark!!!

I live about 30-40 minutes from this "park ave." place. I wonder if its worth the trip over there to check out this unit/deal in person. Does anyone know if they are considered an authorized dealer or whatever???

edit: oh wait i dont even know if they have a storefront??

Posted Mar 02, 2007 · 04:04 UTC#15

Park Ave. Electronics is not listed on Pioneers website as an authorized dealer

Posted Mar 02, 2007 · 04:13 UTC#16

It's a crapshoot! Spend the extra $$ for peace of mind.

Posted Mar 02, 2007 · 15:29 UTC#17

Savings are not a crapshoot. $200 off retail is basically like getting the ipod, cd changer, and sirius for free! (the stuff I want)

Plus, I intend on bypassing it as soon as that's figured out, so my 1 year warranty from an 'authorized' dealer would be worth bupkiss anyway.

I think the risk is not in "gray market" goods, but will you receive the goods at all.

Posted Mar 02, 2007 · 18:55 UTC#20

The company looks shady. But GL anyway. I would say go with CF for a no hassle experience. But hey, that's just me.

BTW, The D3 will be available again on Crutchfield 3/6/07 in case anyone was wondering. :D

Posted Mar 02, 2007 · 21:36 UTC#21

how did you find out CF is getting more on 3-06

Edit: nevermind i just checked CF site after posting this

Not exactly the best source, but eBay now has a lot of D3s, some buy it now at $850.

Posted Mar 03, 2007 · 04:19 UTC#23

Guys I know all of you are looking for a deal. I can get the D3's for $908 and am a Authorized PIONEER Dealer. Shipping on top of the $908 offcourse. We have a few units in stock right now. contact me via email [email protected] .

I can't match the mid $8xx prices like on ebay. I'm not sure if these guys are getting these items through legal channels. My marketing rep tells me the markup on D3 is super low. This is different from the 30-40% markups from the past.

Posted Mar 03, 2007 · 14:33 UTC#24

No offense, but if Crutchfield can offer them for $850 shipped (authorized and fully legal with free mounting kit and wiring harness), there is no reason why other authorized retailers can not. :?:

Just so everyone knows, accomodation price at Tweeter/Sound Advice for the D3 is $600, so yeah, markup is pretty huge (or so says a friend who works at Tweeter).

Also, never trust a marketing rep whose business is to sell you on ideas. ;)

$600.00 is way below dealer cost, so take that price from Tweeter with a grain of salt.
