Well, it's definitely coming soon now. The AVIC-Z2, Owners Manual, Install Guide and Specs are on pioneerelectronics.com as of this morning.
I've been in the shadows searching and reading about the Z1 and Z2 for a while now. So, I finally registered an account today. I'm waiting for the Z2.
looks to me like they just changed the words Z1 to Z2 for the description.
I was told this week that the Z2 was about a month out. Earlier than I expected
YEah, the Z2 seems just like the Z1... I wonder if it will be able to bypass as easy as the Z1, if not, that would be a major downfall.... I can't wait for the new map update though, that should be cool

I saw the Z2 on the Pioneer website this morning also, but it is now gone from the site.

You may want to consider waiting til somebody actually has the Z2 before you make that statement. Give it a month or two...somebody will find a bypass just like they have for EVERY Pioneer nav EVER

And yes, it looks like they just copied the Z1 page and did a find and replace with Z2. 
Lower case type and the ability to change the splash screen with out removing the hard drive look nice. I have not had time to read the whole manual yet. Hopefully there is more.
