If so does the bypass work on this unit? Did they make any changes that will block the bypass?

It's not out yes so it's all speculation, but every Avic model has a way to be bypassed, and I can't see them not putting in something. It might be different then the Z1, but I would bet they would have something. Again, till we see them coming out (in the hands of select people) in March at the earliest we won't know. bobmun is probably right, I would guess normal people will be able to buy them in April

there is a place in or around houston that said the will definitly have the avic-z2 in about a month. they told me this about 2 weeks ago. if anyone is interested in contacting them i can try to find the name. they said it is going to be much better but i think we all know that.

A friend of mine is a Pioneer sales rep, so he said he'd call me as soon as he gets his hands on one so we can play with it a little. Pioneer doesn't even tell the sales reps for certain when the first units will ship.

Wow! If you're not shitting us, that's a kick in the balls for all of us. That probably means that the software upgrade will disable the bypass for the Z1. Anyone wanna buy a used Z1?

while both bypasses were removed, i still think that it will be possible to bypass it again, it will just be something else you have to do

T, are you a QA engineer at pioneer? My friend is a QA engineer there and said that the Z2 may be delayed past its original April deadline. He also said there was a bypass to it but he could not tell me what it was.

I just put a deposit on a Z2 and according to the sales guy (Owner) it should be here in about 1-2 weeks at the Latest. I hope he is right, I can not wait.
