The title says it all. This is contrary to what other people have reported on the BTB200 phone compatibility thread. The carrier is Cingular. The unbranded phone, I must say, was purchased from ebay and came from Malaysia. The AVIC has been set to "Autoconnect". Moto has been set to "Connect Always" for Pioneer unit. Is there something I am missing ?

Should I re-flash the phone firmware to a US version (if it exists) ?

Yes. I did register.

The BTB & V3i do make an attempt to autoconnect everytime I boot D3 but the connection gets dropped after I see a window popup on my V3i for a fraction of a second (It says something like "Bond with Pioneer BT2"). This is irrespective of whether I have set V3i to "Always Ask" or "autoconnect"

The other interesting thing is that if I try to do a "Direct Connect" from D3, I get pretty much same behavior with D3 stating "Connection Error". The only way I can currently connect is by manually initiating connection from my phone.

Can anyone offer me any suggestion. ?

I am already looking at reflashing my phone with a newer firmware and flex.

Not sure, may have something to do with it being unbranded. I have now used three motorolas and they all work with the 200 so I think it must be a phone issue

Yep, the firmware upgrade did the trick. I got the latest unbranded monster pack (Firmware+Flex) flashed onto the v3i. Everything works as it should.
