Ipod Acting Crazy!

I've had my Z1 and Second gen Pio Ipod adapter hooked up for around 7 months now. About 2 weeks ago when I select Ipod - it plays off the ipod for around 5 seconds and then starts rotating tracks. If I have it on track 5, it will jump to 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, etc. No sounds plays it just jumps about every second, cycling through all my tracks. Pause, stop, ff, rw, nothing stops it.

My ipod nano in the glovebox shows charged and sensing the Z1. I know it's not my ipod because it's fully updated and I can disconnect it and listen to it all day long. Anyone have any ideas? this is really frustrating because I haven't touched my setup or ipod in like 5 months... just started happening.

Thanks!

I JUST started having the same problem. I've had error free operation since October, then all of a sudden this...

Counting tracks the same way. I can select any track, but then just counts threw all the tracks in my play list...

CRAP. I am pretty sure it's the ipod adapter. Just out of curiousity - where did you get yours at? Mine came from 6ave. What ipod do you have? Mines the 2gb old style.

I am wondering what we can do about this. I have done a good amount of searches and cannot find anyone else that's had this problem.

My ND-BT1 came with the unit. I bought the Z1 at Sonic Electronix' eBay store. My IPod is a Gen 1 20Gb. Nothing fancy here, just something to hold my music for the car.

Just a curiosity - did you experience problems AFTER an i-pod software update? March 5th Apple release version 7.1 with a subsequent March 16th 7.1.1 "stability" release fix...

My problems definetly started at the end of March. BUT, I know I have 7.1.1 because I made sure I had the "latest and greatest" before I went on a trip Mar 26th. That's when things started to go crazy.

Just saw this from ducatiboy on the other IPod thread( http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6932 ). I'm going to try it tonight when I get home to see if it solves my problem. I'll let you know what I find out.

Have you tried the five R's?

I know I had to do this once with my ipod. When I just plugged it in, it was a little wacky and didn't work quite right. After the last R (restore and reload) it's been rock solid ever since.

I tried the above as promissed and it seemed to solve the problem, but not completely. Instead of the songs counting up without playing, they play but sometime locks the iPod from any inputs maunaly or through the Z1. I usually have to wait 30 seconds then everything I did catches up.

I think it's just time for a new iPod!
