Hey MkV guys - where did you mount your BTB200?
Also, that Scosche kit appears to be miles above both the Metra and AI kits. Thank you for the heads up, and preventing me from having to do this twice!

Mine is in the trunk with the XM and Sirius tuners... Works great (as long as I'm not trying to use my Treo 755)
Can someone post a new link for the scosche kit for the MKV? The link on the first page goes to a single DIN. I want to makes sure I get the same as the one in the OP because it fits so well. I just ordered my D3 this morning and can't wait to get it installed!
Is the inside rectangle piece that's wrapped around the AVIC in your fit kit the same rectangle that comes with the AVIC, or did the Scosche kit come with that additional rectangle? Or did you make it yourself?
There is an inside and outside "ring". The outside ring is the main support where the AVIC mounts to the kit and the kit mounts to the car. The inside ring simply snaps in to place around the AVIC to make the install clean and tidy.

The Scosche kit is better looking than the Metra kit. Without a doubt. Not sure about AI or Bestkits though.
Good luck.
PS: I ended up mounting the BTB200 in the void/access panel on the passenger side of the dash. If you open the door, that panel pops right off and there is plenty of room. It is also a useful place to gain access to the glove box. To make life easier, I popped out the vent as well while working on that location.
Oh...what I meant was is the "inside ring" that you used the one that came with the AVIC or a different one that came with the Scosche kit itself?
The Metra kit doesn't come with the "inside" ring, which sort of made me mad....the one that comes with the Avic doesn't fit well inside the Metra kit very well, so my installer had to make his own "inside" ring.
The Scosche kit included the ring. I did not use the one that came with the AVIC.
Since this is a good VW reference thread, I will ask here first. I have all the hardware in the original post installed, but the NAV seems kinda funky/jerky and when I go to the gauges screen (I forget the name) the middle and right gauges say not available. I haven't had much time to try out other things since install, but does anyone know what I may have done?
