looks good

It appears that they have improved the ipod video support on this unit. It illustrates on page 116 of the owners manual that it actually has a video browser to select videos from the touch screen without actually having to select them from the ipod. That is my biggest issue with the D3. It also appears to have dedicated USB support. This may be my next unit.

Ya, the AVHP5900DVD that has been out for a month or two does not require you to access the ipod for videos like the D3. Good stuff

Posted Aug 12, 2007 · 08:04 UTC#5

It would seem to be easy enough to update the D3 to do the same.

That's the cost of being early adopters with technology. As technologies get older and more mainstream, prices come down.

$400 for a backup camera??? I think I'll pass.

Posted Aug 15, 2007 · 18:41 UTC#16

its not just your average back-up cam ........ do some reading on the part .......its bad ass

Posted Aug 15, 2007 · 22:34 UTC#17

It is neato. Not worth me throwing away my NDBC1 only to spend another $400 though. Oh well

I wonder if it will come with a remote, from what I have read in the description it doesn't look like it. The remote is listed under accessories, dang!

Posted Aug 16, 2007 · 23:11 UTC#19

Yea pio will give you a remote on a real nice $104.99 1900 basic deck..but no no no they can't give us a remote after spending $1000+!!!

Bastards

Yeah for real, the Z2 is minus the remote too. The only good thing is the most expensive remote I saw was $40. But the big ones with all the functions are $15 CD-R55 and $20 CD-R5, so I guess. Maybe I can use the remote from my 980BT.

I used that remote (980BT) on my D3 so there should be no reason why you cant on other units.
