Thanks for the reply garrettoomey. I'll just use my Z1 OEM drive for now.

I successfully updated from my Z1 to the Z3 with this thread. I used my Windows 7 Desktop and was pretty simple to upgrade.

The only issue I have sometimes is when I'm driving with my navigation it sometimes doesn't show me on the right street but autocorrects itself after driving for a little bit. Any ideas what would cause that?

sry if it says somewhere on here, i read the first 6 pages and stopped. i understand this somewhat, but i still have a few questions i was hoping someone could answer for me.

i have a z1 and i did the blutooth update so i could use the 2 wire ground bypass

is my unit capable of doing this update, and is there any other steps i need to do cause its older then the z2 and z3?

i also heard someone say you can update it to be like a z3, does that just mean this with the map updates?

also if i do this, can i remove the stupid nag warning messages that pop up?

thank you

Yes, you can do this upgrade.

All instructions on the 1st couple of pages. No, you won't be able to remove the nag screen.

Hi, Does anyone know when and if Pioneer will release 2010 Maps?

Posted Apr 16, 2010 · 14:44 UTC#505

We don't know for sure. Based on their current trend, I would not expect another map update for the Z series until Fall 2010. The 2009 maps were not released until the end of Sept 2009.

hi, i did the $5 unlock so i lost all data

my partitions were gone, so i remade them, the program was putting the data all i n one partition, so i did it all myself and the z1 i have is not booting. what did i do wrong?

what do i have to do to the partitions to set them up? and how do i get the data in the right spots?

If you follow the directions and use the correct software (Acronis), you will not have to create the partitions. Acronis will create the 4 partitions, and restore the data in one restore function. You should not have to create any partitions manually.

im using the acronis, and it made one partion and put the partions into folders on,it when i tried to direct it, and when i had it go to original loctation it put it on my drvie c on my pc.

You are not using Acronis correctly to RESTORE the image. I use an older version, so maybe someone else with the current version can assist. You may also check the Acronis forums for help. In a nutshell: Select RESTORE from image, select the first file in the image set, select the Avic Z drive as the restore point (deleting any partitions), use defualt settings, go.

Does anyone have a direct link (FTP, Dropbox, etc.) to the file? I have been trying to download the torrent for 4 days. There were originally 3-4 seeders, but they have all dropped off.

Any help is appreciated. If someone has the file and is willing to upload it, I have an ftp site I can give you access to.

Thanks.

You can try the torrent again, I'm seeding it right now.

Thanks, I see the new seed (and it's fast too :D)

My pleasure. Garret and I both seeded this thing for months (as far as I know). There are actually 12 seeds in the swarm right now, I'm surprised that you weren't getting data from any of them...

Right now I'm only uploading to two people at a time so it's splitting the 200kB/s between those. If you think that's fast right now, I'm in the process of buying a house in a Verizon FiOS area, how does 25mb/s upload sound?

Anyway, right now I have a 3mb upload speed, I'm not completely sure why my seedbox isn't saturating that so I will investigate and see if I can get the speed bumped a little for you. If it doesn't change in the next hour it should speed up tonight when the peak usage is down.

Somebody please HELP! I upgraded from the 310bt to the Z110BT and 8 out of 10 people say i sound muffled. Any suggestions. I have a HTC Hero android os phone.

Make a new thread (and make it in the correct forum).

Thanks again, I am getting about 200k download now from 2 peers. I have 15mb/s down and 10 up. I will keep seeding for the foreseeable future even once I have the file.

Question: Is it possible to update the Z2/Z3 (Z2 upgraded with Z3 HDD) firmware to the latest version (3.100400) without any issues?

I was able to update the gracenote db on my unit without a problem, but since there's an update out there (even though I don't need it) I wanted to apply it...

Yes, I understand that I don't "NEED" it... I just want it!

Is the drive unlocked? If so you should be able to write new maps and everything to it. I know Garret has described the process for keeping music and everything intact during this process as well.

I can't say you won't run into issues but if you've already updated the drive once, should be as easy as pie a second go-around.

Yes, drive is unlocked. The reason I ask is because in the firmware upgrade instructions, http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ephox ... VIC-Z3.pdf , it specifically says not to use this update on Z1's or Z2's because "this firmware update could damage those models"

I'm wondering if a Z2 upgraded to Z3 would still be susceptible to this possible damage...? Or since I'm using a Z3 HDD image, is it ok to apply the Z3 only firmware upgrade?

Posted May 12, 2010 · 22:20 UTC#522

If the drive is already upgraded to a Z3 drive, you have all the firmware updates as well. Don't try to apply firmware that isn't meant for the Z3 specifically.

When I look at my 'info' screen, it shows something like 3.100200 as the version, instead of the 3.100400.... But I was able to upgrade the gracenote db successfully...

Guess I'll leave it alone then....thanks for the responses!
