I know there have been a few posts out there about this but no answers so I am hoping someone came up with something. I cannot get my 755p to pair with my AVIC-D3 through the BTB200. It worked perfectly with my 700p, but not with this one. Has anyone figured out a way to beat this?

did you guys log onto verison and see if there is a software update? I know there was one for the treo 650 to fix the problem.

I've spent countless hours talking to Verizon reps. They did have an update for the Treo I was having issues with (don't remember the exact model). Did the update, still wouldn't pair with BTB-200.

Hi there, I was having the same problem with a Qtek9000 here in the Netherlands. Seems that it's not compatible with the D3. After a good search I tried Jetwarehandsfree Bluetooth software (search with google coz I don't have it anymore...) and it worked! Seems that a change of the bluetooth-stack made the difference. Good luck!

Think the Jetware only works for smartphones such as the Treo.

I'm having the same problem with my verizon treo 700p

I too have a addiction for fancy phones and the fact of the matter is palm sucks in regards to bluetooth. It's such a great phone that it seems nuts that it doesn't work as well or at all compared to the cheaper non-smart phones. I have been looking at the other sprint phones offered and they just don't make anything that I like as much. So until there is a solid fix I just won't have bluetooth in my car. What a waste!

i have contacted palm directly... the 755p sprint and verizon... both dont have the software compatibility for any pioneer bluetooth device... according to "Richard" from Palm, they are currently testing the device and an upgrade will be available in the near future...

Did a little research and did came up with only this on the BTB-200: it REQUIRES "Object-Push-Pull" (OPP) Bluetooth profiles in order to move phonebook entries between the radio and phone, whereas most headsets only require "Hands-Free" and "Headset" profiles. For those of you using stock Verizon phones, you can forget it, as Verizon strips their phones of OPP (most likely to prevent software piracy between phones by sharing ringtones etc).

To the point: Make sure your phone & service provider allow OPP on your phone or it won't pair with BTB-200.

Everything I can find says that the Treo supports this profile. However niether version of Treo (700p/755P)we own will work with it.

I am having almost the same problem with my TREO 755P but the AVIC-D3 reads the TREO & the phone does read the Pioneer BT Unit 2, but they just won't pair. The top of the screen on the AVIC keeps saying connection error! WHAT TO DO? I know the unit is working cause I did pair up a razor to the unit & it worked just fine.

Note that just because the phone supports a profile doesn't mean the service provider supports the profile. Most smartphones support a number of more advanced profiles for wireless internet, printing, file-sharing, etc., whereas basic flip-phones tend to only support mono HFP & HSP for using hands-free earpeices.

Just wanted to let everyone know there's an update for the treo 755p and some are using it for the 700p...I am not running this phone right now but there might be some changes to the bluetooth in the update. If anyone tries it please post your results. From what I read the update might be worth it just for the speed improvements and the SMS changes

Update: It's for Sprint :( Need to wait for the Verizon one...

Looks like the Ford Sync guys are having luck but it seems to still not work with the Treo/D3 combo.. at least for me..your results may vary.

BTW it took over 1/2 hour to do this update so plan ahead!

I loaded the update and not only does it not help with the connection, it also screwed up my bluetooth on my phone. I'm running Good Link for my email, ect. I get an message that the bluetooth application is blocked when i try to make my phone "visible". Any ideas on how to get my phone to work again?

The answer is parrot a bluetooth company is goin to be redoing bt for Pioneer which means alot more phone will work. Now with that being said u may have to get an update through pioneer website or parrot and put new software on your phone to make it reconize it...

Take it to the store and see if they will downgrade the software for you.

the rev upgrade for Palm 755P Sprint does nothing to pair with Pioneer. I tried and it messed up my pairing with my Harly Davidson Head unit. The upgrade is a mess, don't do it!!!

Anybody know if there is anything on the horizon to fix this? I'm still hoping at some point they can figure it out. Looks like the jetware stuff is only for the windows variant of phones.
