Avic Z1 works with the Samsung SPH-A900, everything works great, though contact transfer is one by one,

When you transfer contacts to the z1, I hate how it switches the names when filing in the phones book.

ex: John's Cell = Cell John's

Does anyone know how to switch this? Is it my phone or is it the z1 doing this?

Yeah, mine does this too

How do you transfer the contacts from the Razr to the Z1? I have the old software installed on my phone that enables OBX.

Phone: Motorola i870
Carrier: NEXTEL
Transfer: One-by-one
Calling: Fully functional

Plus 2-way radio works with the Z1 but no incoming call info.
It will just mute to receive the incoming alert.

What is meant by On-by-One in terms of the address book load? Does this mean you have to load them one at a time instead of downloading the whole phone book.?

Thanks.

Anyone tested either the 700P or 700W?

That's pretty lame. It looks like all the phines in the list that support transfer are like that. Are there any phones that let you load the whole address book at once?

There are some, I don't remember off hand, but I've seen other members that have reported they transferred entire contacts...

Just so you know, the Avic-Z1 won't separate different numbers for contacts...

for example, if you have a contact that has a land line number and a cell number, it'll put that contact in there twice, and you'll have to go in and re-name what that is...it'll have the contact in there twice with two different numbers.

that's lame.

Finally got mine installed and here's some more info for the database!

Phone: LG VX8300
Carrier: Verizon
Contact Transfer: One by One
Calling Features: Fully Functional
Posted Aug 16, 2006 · 01:08 UTC#43
Carrier : Nextel
Phone Model : i605
Contact Xfer : one at a time
Calling Feat. : Works great, but see note below

except if other end drops call first, I have to hang it up on the Z1. My phone also shows that the call is still connected, after other end drops first. Maybe this happens to everyone? Other than this, it's great.

Actually, BlueTooth is a standard and phone companys (carriers) like to play games so you have to download using their $ervices.

Has anyone tried a BlackBerry phone?

The OP needs to update the list on the front page...

In trying to decide if I want a Z1 or not,I was able to test my SDA Smartphone with an installed Z1. While I was not able to test the transfer of contacts, I was able to pair, recieve and place calls. The trick is to be sure and set the Bluetooh on the SDA as disciverable, and to select the option in the phone for enabling secure somthing or another. I'll comr back in and finish this, it seemes I left the doggone thing at home.. It works though. :D
