Hi Mike, is this on cydia? Where do we find the public beta? Thanks, Ron
First Page...

I just had my Z140BH installed in my Vette. I really like it. However, I can't figure out how to get the voice command to work in Nav mode? I would greatly appreciate the assistance from anyone who knows...
The 140 doesn't have Nav VR.

Every one I have has put out either one or 2 amps Which I snore than enough to power a radio
Also genius every other outlet is run at usual 1500 milliamperes which equals 1.5 amps more than enough
Huh? That adaptor you linked puts out 500mA, that's half an amp (0.5A) aka 6 watts at 12 volts.
That's not anywhere near enough for an AppRadio, which can pull up to 10 amps if powering speakers, just having an iPhone plugged in would probably pull an amp...
There's no way I would plug an AppRadio into a 12v source unless it was good for at least 5 amps.

heres something a lot of people dont know most of your electronics in your house are DC supplied those little adapters that plug into electrical outlets then have another that plug into the device convert your ac into to dc.. you can find one at radio shack that puts out 12v's cut the plug off it use a meter to find power and ground. Should cost no more then 10 bucks. also walmart kmart amazon sells ciggeratte adapters for you house and you could always get an old car chager use that and cut the connector of the old cell phone car charger.
No... Those small outlet adaptors almost always output in milliamps, no where near enough for the app radio. Just because it's 12v doesnt mean you can use it, trying to pull 1A+ through one of those would probably start a fire.

If you have them laying around, I would jumper the turn on pins on a computer power supply and then use any 12v rail (yellow) to power the appradio.

There honestly isn't any reason to upgrade to Lion on a desktop. It just adds minor things like multitouch/full screen apps/launchpad.
-
Wow, yeah, that's really glitchy.
I would try holding out until the jailbreak apps are finished, like what Mike is working on: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/34188-appradio-extensions-20-beta-full-iphone-control/

Snow Leopard, I don't want to spend $30 for "Launchpad".
-
I just checked on my mac, the OP is right, renaming to zip just creates a broken file.
Here's a zip made in windows for you: www.avic411.com/files/Z130v3001.zip

By design or not, this is still a stupid way to program the unit. I should only be forced to read the nanny screen when going to the Navi screen, end of story. Perhaps we don't call it a bug then. Let's just call it programmed stupidity and be done with it.
I agree, but Pioneer is never going to. Also, I think "programmed stupidity" is my new favorite quote on here.

The D3 didn't have a home screen or a home button. You only had AV and Navi which were switched via the map button.
Switching from AV to Navi would trigger the warning on the D3.
-
Also, just hold down the home button if you want to turn the screen off.
Although #2 does sound like a legitimate bug, I can't investigate because I'm bypassed.
#3: I haven't seen anyone else have this issue.
-
It's not just the Z series, it's every AVIC (including the D series). If the unit boots up on AV, switching modes triggers the warning.
-
I may be wrong and I no longer have any of these units but I thought I remember it only displaying if you hit the navi symbol.
Nah, if it boots on AV, pressing home or mode triggers the warning.
-
If the unit boots up on the AV screen, you're going to get the warning screen when you switch to home/navi/phone screens. It's been that way forever and it's not going to change. It's not a "bug".
-
As VBLUE is trying to say, the camera power should be connected to ignition power. The AVIC reverse sensor wire gets connected to the reverse lights.

Very nice...

Welcome! Thanks for sharing the diagram.
-
Yeah, no jailbreak required. DashCommand is an AppRadio compatible app.
-
The iPod setting in handbrake works well.
-
Neat.
I really wouldn't be surprised if Pioneer transitions their future efforts towards products like the AppRadio for pretty much every reason you mentioned.
-
You don't need nero.
Put your backgrounds into a folder called Pictures.
Burn the Pictures folder on the CD. Done.

Interesting. I've never been able to get "system wide touch events" working. Tried for a while. If I could get that part working, I could write the entire hack right now by hijacking the AppRadio app.
Capturing the events from the AppRadio is the easy part. Once you capture the touch events, how do you pass them to the current application?
The mimics guys have figured it out, they capture the touch events via Bluetooth and make them system wide. Get in touch with them.
-
It's a bit more complicated than that. Even with access to the SDK, a lot of work would need to be done to splice it into existing applications. The API is already a bit intrusive and sandboxing in iOS makes it difficult to transmit data between applications.
On a non-jail broken device, yes, apps are sandboxed, we're not talking about that.
It would need to be jailbroken, thus allowing an app running in the background to listen for the appradio and then create system wide touch events. Other apps wouldn't need any modification, they wouldn't know the difference.
The mimics app does this already via Bluetooth, it really isn't a stretch to have it done via the cable.

Bypass it, problem solved.
