EDIT: if you watch the video close enough were the carrier is usually displayed it says " customgadz" the makers of the mimics module. so it seems too me they verified it worked with their module and that the app radio is a 4 wire touch screen or ,i emailed them a few months ago and asked them about re writting the bluetooth software in the appradio itself to work with their mimics driver which i hope is what they did so all you have to do is load a new sd card/ download the driver and bam! it works
You're right... I really hope this is just a software hack that doesn't require a mimics module. Using mimics would prevent bluetooth phone calls..

Why would you buy both the XM and Sirius tuners? The channels are basically the same.
-
Very interesting. I heard this was being worked on and It's cool to finally see it in action.
We've had video mirroring for years, but passing touchscreen commands outside of apps is new. Obviously this will require a jailbroken device.
-
Once you reach the destination, navigation is automatically stopped.
-
I don't think anyone makes one, but it would basically be a male to female dock connector cable with an RCA output.
-
They have different cables for a reason, it's not a conspiracy.
-
The avic feeds button on the avic has nothing to do with setting the splash screen; it's changed in the settings.

In theory, sure. In practice, maybe.
I'm sure there's a less complicated way of doing it. A pass through dock cable with RCA out would work. at least if someone makes such a thing.
-
The AppRadio has video in, not video out.

The iPod module for the D1 is VERY limited. Like I said, you're better off using a dock -> RCA cable and controlling it with the iPod.
-
D1? You're better off using an iPod/iPhone RCA cable into an aux input...
-
The D1 is one of the originals...it's functionality is very limited by todays standards.
You'll also need at a minimum, the power harness, the AV harness, and GPS antenna.
For the iphone, you'll have to use a standard iPhone/IPod RCA cable to the AV Input on the D1, all audio and video will be controlled by the iphone, not the avic.
I'm not aware of current maps for the D Series.

Yeah, contacts are only synced on power up or manually with the contact transfer button, they're not instant.

BootyHunter:
Do you still need to manually confirm the Navigation warning message or does it automatically goes away after a few seconds like others manufacturers?
Every AVIC requires manual confirmation.
-
Pioneer has stated that they have just now started shipping.
-
Yes, the camera is displayed when the car is in reverse.
There is no boot up delay for the camera video.
-
I would check the amp first.
-
any word about when it comes out?
Early/Mid April

You use card a, then card b.

Hmm, do you have an ipod to try with the USB cable? Some flash drives require more power than the AVIC can put out.
As far as diversity antennas, there are dual -> single adaptors, however they're few and far between. I've found that a traditional single powered adaptor works just as well.

There appears to be some sort of communication break down happening here...
From what I can gather, you're asking for the wiring diagram of a X910, correct? To know what the various color wires are for?
As I posted above, the complete wiring diagram for a X910 is here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Unassigned-Content/Manuals/AVIC-X910BT+INSTALLATION+MANUAL the information you're looking for is on page 10.

And another. But this this one shows its a 140bh.
That it does.

Are you familiar with the saying "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime."?
Every wire, location, and function is described in the installation manual, beginning around page 10. I'm not sure how much more clearly I can make it. Everything you're asking is in the manual.
HackRadio
in AppRadio, AppRadio 2, AppRadio 3

Unfortunately, that's what it looks like... I was really excited at first, I thought someone had cracked Pioneer's API.
I'm really surprised no one has figured it out by now. The AppRadio compatible apps already have the code in them, but it's under NDA. Idealy, one would just need to write a jailbroken app that runs in the background and listens for the touch screen commands from the AppRadio directly. That way we get to keep bluetooth calling and no mods to the AppRadio would be required.
