I have the s model with the bare minimum sound system, I planned to upgrade it, so does this mean I'm out of luck?

I have a 2007 Nissan Versa Automatic Transmission and I've aquired a service manual, in PDF form and I can find reference to the VSS and even what they say is the diagram but it doesn't make sense to me if anyone can help I would appreciate it.
