  1. I have the Z130BT, I do like the LOOK of the AppRadio, the clean look, I hate the raised bottom lip on the Z130, if it was flush it would look alot better! I would have had the AppRadio if it had Triple Pre-outs! I have a PRS-A900 high end 4-ch amp and PRS-D1200SPL sub amp, I love the Z130! Now if they incorporate the features of the AppRadio and capacitive touch screen to the Z130 say maybe AVIC-Z140AppRadio!

  2. This is AWESOME! If you leave your iPhone or iTouch connected to your Pioneer AVICZ130BT or AVICX930BT, the Pioneer deck will keep the USB powered when you shut off your vehicle, as long as its been connected, and if you have IOS 5.0.1+ on your device, and have WIFI-Sync turned on, you can sync music and videos to it wirelessly from inside the house! (as long as it is in range of your wifi)

I can add/change songs, videos, playlists, and then press the sync button to my iTouch or iPhone thats been left connected to my pioneer deck, and it'll sync wirelessly while I'm in the house and my truck is outside! How awesome is that! No longer needing to bring the iTouch in! I just leave it, if I find a cool tune or vid, I just add to iTunes, and sync, and voila its in my truck!!!

The Pioneer will keep power to the usb as long as it still connected when shutting off, if you disconnect it, it will shutdown the power to the USB and then you would have to restart the deck up again...

    Have fun!!!

  4. I have read a few posts on here that state the x920bt has navigation problems. Lagging, distances off, passing streets..that sort of thing. My question is does the x930bt suffer these same problems? Im trying to decide between a 920 and 930. I dont need a rotatry wheel as i use steering wheel controls so that part isnt important. VR also isnt the biggest concern for me either. But a lagging navigation would drive me crazy. If anyone knows how the x930 nav works please let me know. Thank you

Had no lag issues with ours! Have you hooked up the VSS wire? Has it been fully calibrated? Most units initially takes time to calibrate at the beginning to learn the vehicles dynamics - u must reset/re-initualize this if you move it to another vehicle! Roughly takes a few days to do and get better over time. Also is the GPS antenna installed in a clear sky position?

  5. Yes you can - on the faceplate press the "REAR" button - keeps the DVD player playing on the rear output - so you can listen to another source - you can loop the rear monitor out to the backup camera in and goto the SPLIT REAR & NAV screen so you can watch the video - have the gps and listen to another source at the same time!

  6. Well I guess i have only sold the 900 series and z series - I have never sold teh 700 since we dont stock it for the price diff is not by much here

So for all the ones I have installed the VSS has made a difference since I have only sold 900/910 F series, Z1/2/3 Z110, series and N1/2/3/4/5 + D1/2/3 series!

  7. You don't necessary need to 'remove the MUTE wire" for this to work, you can add a wire to it instead of giving up the mute wire or having a hard time removing it! I have used a small solid strand wire or even a connector from other equipment using the same pin and inserted it and works... seems a lot of ppl here think 'it MUST be the MUTE wire that you have to remove and move over!

Its just common to use the "mute" wire cuz most ppl dont use it so why not use it for this - but in many of my installs I just insert another wire to it! So much easier! :P

  8. "will the old GEX-P910XM module work on the new Z110BT?"

Supposivey the GEX-P910XM will not work on the new Z110 according to Pioneer's website...

The New model is GEX-P920XM which sells for around $100

    so...

MSN Direct Tuner ND-MDT10 is $110.00

The HD Radio GEX-P20HD is $100.00

The XM Radio GEX-P920XM is $100.00

The Sirius Radio is a two part unit:

    Sirius Tuner SC-C1 is $50.00

Pioneer Sirius Interface CD-SB10 is $70.00

  9. That harness is optional. You can use a standard harness which will work fine, or use the more expensive one, such as the XSVI-5520-NAV

XSVI-5520-NAV - this harness will give you the VSS pulse, Back-up sensor, Park brake sensor, and R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power) which after the ignition is turned off keeps the radio on for another 10mins or until you open the drivers door

Otherwise you can still use the basic harness and you have to manually find and harwire the specific wires like the VSS and backup and park brake wires manually! You'll also lose the R.A.P. feature as well....

***Also this depends if you have a Premium Audio System like the MACH 500/1000! If you do there is another type of harness... let me know!

  10. From my experience the VSS wire on the F/X series is not activated. Connecting it does nothing.

It actually does - it keeps the speed sensor and distance travelled accurate when you in a tunnel or area with lots of buildings or trees that may cause loss of SAT connection! Also will enable the 3D calibration mode to give better results and also angle!

  11. Should I take out my avic n2 and install a avic-700bt?

I think it would look better cosmetically. Any suggestions or comments ? Thanks!

They do look nice but in case if you didn't know, the AVIC-F700BT only plays CD, does not play DVDs. You have to go to the AVIC-F900BT/AVIC-F90BT.

Also no more Disc swapping for maps - all are on built-in flash!

But for myself I'm waiting if they're coming out with a newer "Z" Series like possibly the AVIC-Z4 with the same menu/look of the "F" Series but has the large screen and look of the Z3 and has a HDD to store ur music on - that would be sweet!

  12. Did you just send in the main unit or the hide-away unit as well? I'm asking because the FM Tuner is in the hide-away unit - if you only sent in the main unit for the flex ribbon repair then this does not sound right.

Well, When I called them 3 days ago about my N1, they said there was something else wrong with it, not just the flex cable, then that dude was like. "so you wanna pay now?" I told him nahhhhhh not yet. Then today Pioneer called me and told me what else was wrong with it. She said the FM tuner was also broken. So then I asked if they could not replace the FM tuner and he said yeah but there wouldnt be a 90 day warranty on the flex cable.

    Deal or no Deal?

I never listened to the radio anyways so the i think saving 200 dollars is worth it.

but how much do FM tuners go for?

  13. DUH - Early adoptors typically pay MORE - not less. Still doesn't explain why the N4 costs less than the N3.

You've just answered your own question!

Early adopters pay more for R&D and also technology becomes cheaper as time goes...

As for the N4 the technology is now cheaper to manufacturer and most of the R&D has already been done and taken over from the previous models! So all they have to do is just a little modifications and add a few extra features...

And also I do agree the N4 is ugly! The best looking one I say was the AVIC-N1 - if the AVIC-N3 had the same knobs as the N1 I'd bee happy enuf - even if the N4 kept the same style I'd be happy to get one right away! The N4 just looks so cheap and plain looking - that prob is why its also cheaper too!

I wouldn't buy another alpine unit though - way to costly and plain - spend a fortune to get it to do what an AVIC will do, spend over $10,000 and and still left with features that the alpine unit can't do such as Voice Recognition and Vehicle Dynamics and so on and on...

  14. Hi, I was wondering, what type of CD should I buy so that I can play my rip music videos in my N1. 'cause I tried DVD +R and DVD -R. Both didn't work. How should I burn the CDs? I tried using Easy DVD CD Burner and I ticked 'finalize files'. Did I do anyhting wrong? Or is it just that N1 is not capable of reading any burned DVDs?

Use the minus (-) ones: DVD-R or DVD-RW

I use Sony and Maxell ones - works great! Make sure you finalize the discs when you have finished filling your discs otherwise they will not read!

  15. I am curious if anyone has ever tried to reuse a DVD RW? And by reuse I mean burn some mp3's or WMA's on there and then later on erase them and burn some new ones on there.

I have tried this and it doesn't seem to work. Seems that once the disk is finalized, you cannot erase the files.

I have done it all the time - works fine for me!

I've even re-used them for vids too!
