  1. Wouldnt that be a question best answered by taking out one of your stock screws and seeing if there is a security screw that is the same length and thread as your stockers. Or if you are using the Z2 screws grab them and head to the hardware store and check. A google search brings up a bunch of security screws as well. Dont know the size off the top of my head though.
  2. Did they fix the routing issue? Because that is the Z series biggest weakness IMO.
  3. Sorry to dig this bad boy up from last year, but Im about to check the install of a friends D2 on his 2007 Tc and Im trying to gather as much info as possible. He is having some tracking problems and I believe its the VSS installed incorrectly or not at all. His problem is extremely similar to the one I was having with tracking and my VSS was installed incorrectly. This seems like a stupid question, but I want to ask anyway. Do I have to connect the VSS to ALL of those wires or will picking any one of the three do the trick? Does one of the wires work much better than the other two o
  4. Sounds to me like the VSS isnt hooked up and the unit needs to be reset in the settings menu. Mine started working about 20 seconds after I started driving. But its only been in 1 car. Try settings->hardware->3d calibration and reset it. If you have the unit set up in a truck and then switched it to a new car, the speed pulses will be different. if this doesnt work, then check and see if the VSS wire is hooked up and if it is, make sure its hooked up to the correct wire.
  5. i didnt even wait, I looked at the VSS wire and it was the incorrect wire. SO I switched it to the wire that someone used for the 07 Sti Limited and now its working great. Ill be testing it during the week to make sure. See, I was only 95% sure...
  6. So I reset the unit and that cured it. For a minute. Its back to excessive speed readings again. Mostly on a cold start. Once I stop and allow the unit to reset itself it seems to work much better. I hardwired the VSS to the harness instead of the vamp clip and like I said above it still is a problem. It has read that Im doing 70+ MPH when the car is at a dead stand still. And no its never been in any car except the STi So if the VSS wire in the car harness has nothing to so with the speedo gauge, whats the point of having it run to the cluster? And why is reading ridiculous spe
  7. On one road near my house, and only this one road, my speed reading in calibrations reads in excess of 146... This morning while doing about 40 it read 156MPH... Now while I have been known to ahhhmmm drive that fast, its not on a public road. So I pulled over to the side of the road and let the vehicle actually stop and the MPH came down to 0. Then it reset itself just fine and worked according to my actual speed. Ive got everything hooked up correctly, the VSS is correctly installed, should I hard wire it instead of the crimp connection? Or is something else wrong?
  8. sounds like a plan. Thanks man. Will the DVD continue to play in drive without the bypass? Or does the unit shut down?
  9. I saw a navi/DVD head unit(not sure which it was) that had an aftermarket kill switch on it. What I mean is that my GF and I were driving in NYC watching some concert DVD and when we came up to a toll, the driver hit a kill switch that put up the "Video is Unavailable while car is in motion" screen or something like that warning. After the toll he flipped the switch again and the video was back. The DVD kept playing though and we could hear the music. Now im leaning towards getting a Z2 and this isnt a deal breaker, but can I do something like this with the Z2? I guess the first quest
