  1. Silver 528 I broke down and bought a Janus Design bezel. I had the entire thing color matched to my trim. I also had the trim around the face of the Z3 color matched. It is awesome. It is 100 times better looking than before. Mind you, my first cut was off the chain as well. I now have my old one that was posted on this site for sale. I also bought an extra factory style for sale...... The top was color matched like the home made one.....custom.... I need to get rid of both..... Anyone interested send me an email, I got new pictures. zq22@hotmail.com Twin

  3. I am 100% Satisfied. I bought 3 over the past few months...... Garret is an outstanding-upstanding person. Highly recommend!!!!!
  4. I just hooked an HD to my Z3. It works fine. It does what other radios do, RDS. Fortuntely most stations in my are simul cast in HD. It works well but I really can't hear a big difference..........
  5. Trying to manipulate my icons/graphics (blue bar on AV screen below, want to change colors) Also Icons used for callers and number IDs... Can this be done?
  6. Where is the VSS wire and what color is it for a 2007 Cadillac SRX? Thanks!!!!
  7. I did the bezel & trim myself, total cost 125.00. Much personal time involved. The cost really involved the wood trim dip. I used the company APSIS USA. I provided the wood strip (home made). The speed sensor wire? It is located behind the steering column. It has been so long I can't recall the color. Sorry, I'll heck my Bentley book, good luck. Here is the link to how I completed my home made bezel/trim: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showth ... ost3102714

  9. Please see my PM & let me know if I can help further...... Take your time, be creative & good luck... Update, I also modified the start up files with OEM BMW background by removing the Pioneer logos. I also added my own picture BMW files for AV & Map backgrounds. AVIC Z3: Ipod XM Bluetooth & Voice recognition Backup camera Multi CD Bypassed Awesome configuraration. I maxed it out!!!
  10. I ended up doing it myself.... Very, very easy.... BTW Having the second set of wires handy does make it a lot eaiser..... If anyone else in the area needs help hit me up... As long as you can get to the wiring harness and back of the radio, it's easy!!!!
  11. I noticed that the actual buttons are "tinted" blue. Are the LEDs blue too? I thought that the LEDs were white and the actual tinted blue buttons changed the color to blue. If this were the case, could the buttons vice the LEDS be changed to a different color...ie Deep orange, my BMW color scheme color....Just asking, I really don't know but I do have my fingers crossed for this seems an easier more workable solution....... You smart guys know this...man, so what's the 411?
  12. Now that I have finished the install, I will explore all the other features like voice recognition. My steering wheel controls do work well as far as radio functions but voice recognition I have not tried yet. I willlet you know!!! Update, I ugraded the HDD to a Z3 60GB. I did the bypass as well. I also added a back up camera Everything works outstandingly well....... r/
  13. Many will tell you that a lot of modification needs to be done for the install. Not true. I did not do the actual radio install but I did watch the guy put the radio in. He did not have to make any modification to the air duct or inside the radio compartment. I finished the job by customizing the bezel myself from very simple components. When finished it looked (as the pictures show) like an OEM component. I only know of one guy who makes bezels (faceplates) for the BMW E39, 46, X5 or E36. He sells them (without woodgrain) for 250.00 + Shipping. I was going to buy from him but he was v
  14. Gent's, Some say installing an AVIC Z2 in a BMW (E39) can't be done or it's too hard to do. I am here to dispel the myths and show off my install. I made the faceplate from ABS & a srtip of wood. I hand crafted the ABS with a hack saw and file. I cut the wood out of a simple pine strip. The tricky part was matching the color. I did a web search and found a company that could color match the wood grain with the dipping process. He did an outstanding job. Lastly, I had a local installer install the radio. He did not have to do major air duct modifications or rework the internal orga
  15. Thanks guy. My system is already installed (5 Series BMW) All I need is the bypass. I also have someone else who needs the bypass located in the same area. Would definitely appreciate your help when able. I left a PM with my contact information..... Thanks
