  1. Hi Guys, Been a long time since I've been on here. I have a Z1 with a new hard drive with the Z3 image on it. I have a pioneer Ipod adapter (can't remember the model and can't find my box) connected to it. With this adapter (looks like a box) I can control my Ipod through my head unit. However, searching through songs takes forever and is a total pain in the ass. I know the equipment is outdated, but I was wondering if there is a better adapter module out there where scrolling for music is much quicker? My brother just got the new Dodge Ram and he scrolls through his Ipod so fast.
  2. Hi, I own an Avic-Z1 that was updated to a Z3 through the Z3 image a while back. All of a sudden out of the blue, whenever I go to the next track on my Ipod (controlled by the steering wheel controls which control my Avic-Z3) the song's title that was originally playing remains on my Avic screen while the new song plays. If I hit next track again, the new song plays, but the first song title still remains on the screen. The screen will not show the title and info of the new song playing. For example. I start my car and song "A" starts to play. Song "A's" title and info show up on the
  3. I had my Z1 installed and asked for the 2-wire bypass to be performed. Since, I have upgraded to a Z2 and then a Z3 using the images on this forum. I can't remember, but I don't think I actually ever tested the bypass. Just this past weekend I went on a long trip and decided to make a call while driving. The option was greyed out. I couldn't dial. The option to dial a favorite was accessible however. I then tried to set the Navi to test how it worked where I was and again I couldn't program a destination while driving. This made me think the bypass was never done. So when I got home I
  4. Thanks, one more question. Can the PAC-SWI-PS be programmed to actually change the A/V source? Instead of having to press IPod or Library on the screen, can I just press a programmed button on my steering wheel? Where can I find the info on how to do the button assignments? Is it in the PAC-SWI-PS booklet?
  5. I've had this set up for a while now with no problems, but recently noticed something that bothers me. When I listen to the radio (AM or FM), something I rarely do and press track up, my preset stations do not change. Instead, the radio station just moves to the next station. For example, preset 1 is 95.5 and preset 2 is 100.3. If I'm listening to preset 1 (95.5) and press track up, the Z3 does not switch to preset 2 (100.3), instead it goes to 95.7. If I hit it again it goes to 95.9 and so forth. Is my PAC-SWI-PS configured wrong? Also, my track up and track down buttons work fine, but
  6. Thanks for everyone's help with my install and Z1 to Z2 upgrade. This forum rocks. Everything is up and running perfectly. Oh yeah........GIANTS 17 PATRIOTS 14, Unbelieveable. Looks like I'll have to use my navigation unit to navigate around the mass of people going nuts on the streets here in Flushing Queens NY. Great Game!
  7. Finished the conversion of my Z1 to a Z2 with a new Toshiba 80 GB drive. Did the new gracenote update. I downloaded the new Z2 firmware, but was wondering if this is the firmware I should be using, since in reality it is a Z1. I've seen other posts asking the same question. Can anyone give an answer that has done the updat?
  8. I have one of those license plate rear cameras, BOYO I think. Can't remember as I threw out the box. My installer did not hook it up so that the camera will show when I go into rear view on the mao mode. When I asked him about that, he said that camera cannot do that because it cannot be on all the time or else it will burn out. Is this ture?
  9. A little scew up in the above post. Just wanted to say the 3D reset did the trick. Thanls for everyone's help
  10. Well, first try the reset. It seems that orientation problems are somewhat common on new installations and simply reseting the learning status takes care of it. The VSS is not necessary; it helps with accuracy when signal is lost, but in my experience it has made no difference. I've had My Z2 hooked up WITHOUT the VSS for a couple months (cause I'm lazy) and it's been working flawlessly. Obviously it can't sense slope without it, but besides novelty / 3D hybrid, it's unnecessary. So, no. I doubt it's because of VSS. I did the 3D Reset and it worked. Everything is working
  11. I tried toggling the compass back and forth to see which was better. When I press it once the triangle that is supposed to be my car stays pointed up, but moves along correctly on the roads as I drive. This mode seems to work best for me. However, if I switch to drivers view, I do not see roads, all I see is grass or concrete. I guess this is because the arrow is pointing off the road and not actually onto it. If you can't follow me basically the arrow always stays pointed up but moves to the right as I drive (or should I say the map moves to the left as the arrow stays fixed) and the GPS
  12. If you're talking about the compass on the screen that shows the time, MPH and Compass, when I press that I get a menu allowing me to change the compass icon to something else. If you're talking about a different compass please elaborate.
  13. Did what you suggested and it's still 90 degress of. I haven't checked the antenna or install connections yet. Just to make sure I'm reading the compass correctly. It shows my car pointing east when in fact the car is pointing north. So east is on top and north is to the left with the picture of the car pointing up or east. Then there is a red line going from the side of my car to the left connecting to the N for north. What is that red line? And from what I just described, am I correct in saying it's off 90 degrees?
