  1. My bad. I knew I posted, but couldn't find where the post went. Sorry, for that, but thanks for the help!
  2. I believe that you are.... except for this line: Technically the files aren't bypassed but they are updated so that grounding those two wires will result in a bypassed Z2. I think what you are thinking is correct, but that line was worded a little weird. But I think you have the right idea in all that. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. Now to try it.
  3. Ok, Hopefully this will be the last question. I have the Z1 and it's not yet installed. I will do the Z1 to Z2 update via a new drive. However, I will do it AFTER the install to make sure everything works when installed. I want to do the 2 wire bypass also. Here is what I plan to do, please correct me if I'm wrong. 1. 6. So say I purchased a new Toshiba 60 GB drive and connected it to my PC to upload the Z2 image onto it. What steps do I need to follow? I'm guessing I really only need to unlock the drive permanetly and put the image onto the new drive. Is this correct?
  7. I searched the forums and couldn't find an answer. Hope someone can help me out. I took my Avic-Z1 to be installed and I was told that if they installed it, I wouldn't be able to use my rear DVD entertainment center any longer as it is controlled by the factory radio. I verifyied this by reading posts on other forums. One way arond this my installer told me, wolud be to install the factory radio under my seat so I can still use the rear DVD. This too was verifyied by reading various posts. My installer also said he would look into an interface that could be connected to the AVIC-Z1 so th
