AVIC Z1/Z2/Z3 Upgrade to AVIC Z3 w/2009 Maps

I went ahead and restored the first 2 partitions and DID NOT restore the MBR. Everything seems to work fine and I kept all of my music and settings. Looks like either way will work. -

Is this possible? I am thinking that the Z2 image contains special attributes in these 2 partitions that are different from the Z1. Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone tried to restore only the first 2 partitions? Any success on keeping your music while upgrading to the Z2 image? One more question. I see four partitions. I know I am only going to restore the first two to avoid erasing my music. Do I need to restore the "MBR and track 0"? -
