I am also wondering if this is possible ( I have an HRZ88 ). Often for engineering bang for buck, the electronics are all the same internally with perhaps some modular differences, but the micros etc are probably the same. A firmware updater may look for a certain model name when querying the chip before proceeding so this may be a stumbling block. It may be possible to trick or hack a firmware updater to do what we are all asking. I'd like to know more about the normal firmware update process and how it is done - update CD, HDD, all are possible?
