Forgive what may be an obvious question but do you or the police know when the stolen vehicle report was made with the police?
Or was it just reported to their insurance company.
I'm just curious to know if it was before or after the time of accident.
A few years ago my parked vehicle was relocated (probably by a non-permit holding movie production company or other wrongful tow) in the Lower East Side a few blocks south of Houston street. After failing to find my parked vehicle I assumed it was stolen, so I called the insurance company and they said call the police for a incident #. The police met me at it's last known location and documented everything including time of theft & time of report. Shortly after that I found my vehicle by chance - parked several blocks away with nothing missing and no damage - but obvious signs of an intruder existed.
Do you think you could identify and describe the driver who appeared drunk to the police?
Thats the thing. I called the police right away when it happened. As for the when the owner reported the car stolen. I dont know. Im hoping the investigator puts two and two together. And yes I know what he looks like.

I just got off the phone with Pioneer tech support and they confirmed this to be true. Had I known this, I would have gotten a diffrent system. I had a Avic-110bt and it had voice commands, this just seems like a step back. I want to be able to switch between modes with out taking my eyes off the road. This seems unsafe. I wonder what your thoughts are.
Well I have my factory steering wheel controls in my truck where i can switch sources with a click without looking at the radio. I got the AXXESS ASWC-1.

Well i am pissed right now. The owner of the vehicle reported the car stolen. Now their investigating, SMH. Seems like I am at a loss and am going to fix it out of pocket

Yeah I don't need an ipad strapped to the front of my car. 7" is perfect IMO.
Same here.

Exactly. The 8000 does more than enough.... Very satisfied with the unit. In addition I've looked a several consumer responses from the Alpine units and they're mostly negative.... The features lacking on their Alpine units are readily accessible with the 8000... I'd rather have navi, great sound quality, iPod/iPhone video functionality over vehicle info any day of the week.....
My factory vehicle nav cam with vehicle info on the unit. But i had to manually enter the oil changes and stuff. real annoying. Dont care much for it besides theres also Dash Command that does pretty much the same except climate control.

I think the voice commands are pretty much not to control the unit but to work with SIRI eyes free. and Android. I could be wrong

But the system as a whole is great or am I being too much of an optimist? I read some reviews and because one feature of this radio either doesn't work or isn't operational they trash the entire unit. That to me isn't a fair assessment of the 8000. Someone show me a radio that does everything this one does and more and I'll invest.
I agree with you the radio is amazing, fast and beautiful. One function is not going to stop me from using the rest of it. It would be nice tho.

Actually I don't. The other guys insurance is going to cover it. But once it's fix. Believe I will be adding it.

I'm using the lightning adapter. App radio is horrible. Not worth listening to music when opening the car media app in app radio when I can go to ipod1 source.
-
same here I wont be using app radio. Maybe CarPlay
-
Still waiting for the adjuster to come look at it
-
Yes. Just make sure to connect Iphone to USB1. and ipod to usb2.

What about your rear sound?? Is it on?? I find that that when off its low.
-
To be honest I never noticed. So far the movies are alphabetical. Not sure on music.
-
Mines start up as soon as you turn the car on and out it in reverse. But if you wait to let the radio boot up it takes me about 2-3 seconds. First the parking guides come on first then the image.
-
do you have a sound system or amp controlling the interior speakers??? In my car i have a amp driving the interior speakers and if I set the crossovers to HP i wont hear it . But if i set to full crossover I can hear it loud and clear.

should be the same switch you use to turn on the lights. it should be in this orde AUTO, OFF, INTERMEDIATE, ON
Where is this AUTO feature you speak of
-
Hook up the wire from the tail light directly to the HU. That's what I did. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Also you have to turn on the back up camera setting to on and to battery.
-
Can't drive it. Rear right wheel is rubbing the wheel well
-
Not totaled. Gonna have a claim rep come down to see the damage. Probably gotta get on the machine and realign the chassis or the axle
-
Also go to your audio settings and check to see if rear audio is set to on.
-
Check to see if you have the premium sound system in your truck. It might be that the PAC harness is not recognizing the amp.

1129. Website I went to had it for $929. They made a price error and honored the price. Now it's for 1399

No when I use the switch it doesn't dim. But since it set on auto it does it depending on the day. I just noticed it the other day. I turn the car off and the radio brightens back. Crazy.

Now I have to come to work 1/2 hour late and leave 1/2 hour early everyday. I gotta get home before the wife leaves to school and work and little man gets dropped off. Its just a inconvience and stressful situation. Looking into ZIPCAR in the meantime while my truck gets fixed.
