  1. You should consider using a different installer from now on. If they can't get something this common to work, they don't know what they're doing (especially if they're plugging it into the wrong RCA input).
  2. So, basically, you're paying a huge premium for the screen. I'm not saying that's wrong, if i cared about brightness, etc., I'd would have paid the premium too. I went with the 4000NEX because it offered all of the features of the 8000, sans the marginal navigation and great screen. The 8000 also has more memory, which, I guess speeds it up some (i don't find the 4000 slow at all).
  3. I installed the 4000nex in my 4Runner and I really like it, except the Bluetooth connection is finicky. The connection isn't very reliable and if using a nav app that routes directions over Bluetooth, the sound quality is terrible and because the connection is slow, it will cut off some of the speech. The crappy stock radio did A LOT better than this one. Only reason I don't complain more is because I envision Carplay will resolve this for me.
  4. Agree. The camera view setting, i think, is for when you are hauling a trailer.
  5. You mean like pressing an icon or something to view the camera feed? I'd like that feature too. I think other Pioneer radios have it.
  6. I can confirm that the microbypass will work on the 4000NEX. Specifically, I used the bypass from DIYBYPASS.
  7. I don't know about the idatalink, so the install may be different. However, generally speaking, the purple/white wire is the reverse sensing wire, attach it to the backup light also. Plug the camera's RCA (probably yellow) into the camera input on the NEX (I think brown, look at the manual).
