  1. Not sure if this helps you can do a map search of an area in the pic to get a comparison. The new maps seem more accurate than previous, but I'm not 100% if they are actually better. I just updated them so I will share once I get to see more lanmarks and stuff. One thing I recall is that it did update alot of 3d landmarks in the update. If you don't travel out of state much I would pay for just the update for your region. $129.99 is a bit steep

Yup that's what I'm running. Message me with email addresses and I'll try and send the file.

Hey, thanks for uploading these 3 pictures of the new maps.  This helps.

  2.

I have the 8100 and the N6, I was told by Pioneer tech that they will not do AppRadio with the pioneer cables (cd-ah200), only the HTC M's and Sony, there was another but I for got the name...

IT seems that having a CHromcast will work, there are a lot of youtube vids showing that it works, but I"ve yet to find a detail site that walks you through how to get it all working step by step...

I have the needed software and cables, I just need to know what settings etc....

I'll probably end up buying the HTC M9 in a couple months...

  3. My first thought would be that the fan is possibly being obstructed. Sometimes the wiring can get pretty tight behind an aftermarket installation. I can see that potentially being an issue.

Maybe the fan is sucking in hot air from the HVAC system? I really don't know - just throwing out some ideas.

Anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?  I definitely want to explore all possibilities before going through the pains of waiting for about 1 month for the RMA to process.

The idea of the fan possibly being obstructed by excessive wiring could be a feasible possibility.  Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm open to any other ideas if anyone has any.  I just don't want to deal with the painful hassle of uninstalling the GPS from the car, shipping it with high shipping costs and having up to a 1 month turnaround time followed by another time consuming installation.  Ughhhh.

Please everyone, I'm open to ideas and solutions.

  5. For the AVIC-6000NEX:  Has anyone experienced or know what the root cause of the following error message?

"Product overheat. System will be shut down in 1 minute. Restart the product by ACC-Off/On may fix this problem. If this message keeps showing up, it is possible that some problem occurred in the product."

It comes on intermittently while driving and then shuts the GPS off.  Funny how a product overheat can occur in the middle of December while driving in 50 degrees Fahrenheit weather!  I"ve attached an image of this error message.

Any suggestions to help fix this problem for the AVIC-6000NEX?

    Thanks everyone.

  6. i just mention is can be done, and no one is asking for it so i didn't mention the apps name, and beside is not in a right topic.

    1) Which app did you use to get MirrorLink working?

    2) Do you have a way to get AppRadio working on the S6 or Note 5?

  7. Thanks for sharing.  I just bought my 8100 without being aware of this issue, so I've been reading up.  I was looking for an update...so at least this is something!

Don't hold your breath, after all, it's Pioneer.

  8. Crickets?

    Hey Guys,

So i don't believe any one has hit this one yet but.  I found a way for full screen on my galaxy S6. All I had to do was install sygic car nav from the app store and then from the app exit it then POW right in to the desktop.  Just exit the app from the app and not from the side bar.  Allso the back button inside mirrolink works as well.  Might just be a bug but its awesome.

    Have fun

Did you have to use the CD AH200 kit to get it to work or any USB cable?

  9. So, it would be possible to connect IPhone lightening cable to USB1, a USB HDD to USB2, and power the HDMI a/v adapter from a separately installed USB port, and have all three available by making the proper setting changes on the deSo your

    So your setup would go:

    1) USB 1 - Apple Lightning

    2) USB 2 - HDD

The AVIC NEX series only has 2 USB ports.  Both of these ports are taken up by your suggested configuration above.  So where would this "separately installed USB port come from?"

  10. If you take the unit apart be prepared to not be able to use the DVD/CD you pull out as there are tabs to keep you from putting a second CD in which will scratch your disc as you remove it. I happened to have a burned disc in mine so I didn't particularly care if I scratched it. But as far as getting to the CD/DVD tray, pretty easy, just unscrew the four screws that have arrows next to them on the top of the unit, then the 5th screw you may need to remove is the one at the back of the unit, this allows the bracket to shift out of the way for the top to come off, once you have that, you can remove the tray from the top of the unit and pull the CD out.

I've looked into the other threads pinned, and have gotten into the "DEVELOPDBG ON" menu but there is nothing there for DVD settings. If you are talking about technical test mode, I read through the guide in the other thread but I'm not sure how to reboot the device into that mode. Is it as simple as downloading a BSP from the build site and putting it on a flash drive and booting from USB1?

I"m probably going to have to go this route and take apart the unit to pull the cd out. =/

  11. They recommended sending it in for service. But with a 3 week turnaround time, plus no guarantee that warranty would be honored, I'm half wondering if I should just seek a replacement from Amazon.

Dr. Claw: Just wanted to follow up on the results of your warranty RMA wrt to the Home Buttons not working properly.  Did they all work on your return?  hat was the turn-around time?  Did they honor the warranty?  If now, how much did it cost.  I may have to ship mine back in for the very same reason!

  13. If you want cutting edge Android, then you should go with pure android, in my mind. That would be the Nexus line. They always get the latest updates first, with nexus 6 having the highest res screen. I had a LG G3, which was great, but provided zero compatibility with Auto or AppRadio. That being said, I wouldn't bet on their G4 doing it, since it's the same phone with a few new things.  I haven't used my Nexus 6 for appradio yet, just Android Auto. I've been curious, and I have an authentic slimport adapter, so I will try to test it this weekend.

I was just about to drop a load of cash and purchase a flagship Nexus phone but the immediate dealbreakers were:

    1) Lack of a removeable battery

    2) Lack of micro-SD card expansion

Are there any phones out there will pound for pound match the Google Nexus while offering those 2 items I'm looking for above?
