    Sure, but I thought it was just the 2 files that were needed.

     

    IT WORKS!!!!!  this version works on Z140BT (mine) and so probably all other newer models.  Basically use everything but replace the verinfo with pionara verinfo file (to bypass the password) and it'll start updating like it should  Many thanks BlakeStone!!!!

     

    I am attaching the Pionara's verinfo file here as well to make it easier for the rest of the guys behind me.

    BlakeStone.  Much appreciated.  I tried different cardinfo & verinfo files and none worked on the Z140BH unit so just wanted to try your version.

    This version is not the same as the one killiradway posted?

    My understanding is limited so I may be way off based here but according to pionara, cardinfo only serves to trigger the unit into looking at the SD card for an update and reboot the unit.  Once rebooted, cardinfo is not used anymore.  If this is the case, the cardinfo we currently have should suffice...so it could be something else..

    These are for:

    AVIC-Z130BT
    AVIC-X930BT
    AVIC-X9310BT
    AVIC-Z140BH
    AVIC-X940BT

     

    BlakeStone:  Do you have the actual 2015 map update for the unit posted above?  I tried to put the two files you posted in the zip combine with the 2015 map update files from kellinaradway and it didn't work in the AVIC-Z140BH.

    BlakeStone posted this in the X series forum. Just to spell it out clearly, use this CardInfo.cif file (after unzipping of course) for the above mentioned headunits. Thanks for posting this BlakeStone.

     

    Well...downloaded this Zip file and put the new CARDINFO file in and it still say "Wrong SD Card".  Went back and replaced the VERINFO file (from pionara) with the verinfo  file in this zip file and it said "Update Failed....try again" with a "Retry" button.  Press on the retry button just repeat the message...so in other words, it doesn't work.  

     

    Perhaps BlakeStone can upload the 2015 map again along with everything else for the z140BH/X940/130BT etc... unit?

    Yes. I used the cardinfo file from that thread and it let me update. However when you say " yes, update" it'll say "Incorrect SD card...etc" and will get stuck. There is a thread I posted up on top to "un-stuck" yourself. But again why would you want to go through it again if you knew it won't work.

    Okay...found this thread by Pionara which rescued my a$$.  I'm going to post a link here in case someone get into the same craps I just did...

    Anyways, I think I have enough fun for today and I'm going to hang back for awhile.  I almost $hit a brick a few minutes ago when I couldn't get out of that "No SD card..." issue..  Whew!!!

    Yeah I formatted in FAT32 the first time.  Yeah I swapped FIRMWARE folder from 2013, 2015 etc nothing happens.  The navi appears like it didn't recognize the SD.  However, the same SD with all those junks in there, I put TESTMODE file, it'll go into test mode so obviously it sees the SD card.

     

    Will try again:

    1) format SD to FAT32

    2) Copy 2015 map UPDATE folder to root SD

    3) Copy 2015 FIRMWARE folder to root SD

    4) copy VERINFO file (from Pionara) to UPDATE folder

    5) copy CARDINFO (from 2013 map update for 130BT) to root SD

    6) Insert SD into navi and ........will update result.

     

     

    UPDATE:  With the steps above...the result is the same.  Put in the SD card doesn't do anything.  The Navi just goes into normal operation as if it wasn't even there.

     

    UPDATE #2:  I went ahead and put the original VERINFO and CARDINFO that is included in OP link (2015 map), still nothing.  The navi won't do anything. 

     

    I think this map update only works on 120BT or earlier???

    may be I need to format it FAT instead of FAT32...hopefully this is my stupid mistake.  Will try again :)  LOL

     

    Update:  Reformat in FAT, copied the UPDATE, FIRMWARE, CARDINFO and the VERINFO (into UPDATE folder)...put it in and the system didn't even respond...same as before.  Not sure what to do now...

    Okay, well I formatted a SD 4gig card in Fat32, unzipped the map/firmware/cardinfo onto the sd's root directory.  So there's UPDATE, FIRMWARE folders, and CARDINFO file in root SD.  Placed the VERINFO file in UPDATE folder (from panora)...put it in and...umm..nothing...nada...the Navi booted up like normal and goes into operation mode as nothing has happened..

     

    deleted the CARDINFO and put the 2013 map CARDINFO file in, and put in it...the result is the same...nothing..nada...  I'm going to delete the FIRMWARE folder and put the FIRMWARE from 2013 map and see if it even response....I'm at a loss now...

     

    any idea?
