I've had the Z1 a little less than a year. Lately, I've been getting a noise from the speakers that only occurs when I start the car or turn the car off. The best I can describe is a whirring or grinding sound. It stops once the unit boots up or the car is shut off. It does not matter if the car is running or not - just powering up and powering down, but stops once the sound kicks in. I have not done any of the mods nor installed any of the updates. Has anyone else experience this? The unit is installed in a 2006 Mustang as the head unit for a Shaker 1000 system with no other amp or speaker mo

That's a good idea - it might just be the Ipod, I hadn't considered that. I'll give it a shot - Thanks. (2006 Mustang with the rest of the Shaker 1000 system intacts - only replaced the head unit).
