  1. Problem solved...thank you for all the suggestions. As it turns out, the one ground wire slipped out and disconnected. I was messing around and put in a dvd. It would not show a picture no matter if e brake was on or not, in park or not. That got me thinking a wire was loose. Sure enough. I fixed it and right away dvd picture plays, and the grayed out firmware update is no longer grayed out. Downloaded right away and we're good to go. I do have the reported audio issues from the other thread. I did notice that if you place a call, you can't hear other person answer, but if you say hello (or so
  2. Ok. I think I was plugging the usb drive in before I should. So I started all over. When I go to step 10 (touch firmware update) the button is grayed out. So I don't get to plug in usb and hit continue. Why would it be grayed out?
  3. Did everything and when I plug in thumb drive it says unplayable file
  4. This may be dumb, but want to make sure I'm not messing up something simple...how do I set my audio source to off? Also, it is ok to use the usb extension wire that was packaged with the unit plugged into usb 1 and then plug thumb drive into it, correct?
  5. It creates the avic5000nex folder. I copy that to the thumb drive. If I click on the usb thumb drive I can see the folder. I can click on the folder and it contains 31 files. I eject from there and plug into the nex usb1. Won't read it. Weird!
  6. I installed the nex4000. I have cord in the top USB port (usb1). I have downloaded the 1.08 firmware update to a usb thumb drive. It is the appropriate format (fat32) I think. It loads onto usb drive then I uncompress it. It creates the folder on my drive. I plug into my nex4000 and it says unreadable. Frustrated...any ideas? I need some help. Thanks in advance.
