did you look on the head unit or on the brain, it should be on the bottom of the head unit, if you looked in the right place and their still isnt one, post a picture so we can look at it.

ok guys your getting off course, i have an N3 head and brain unit. I was talking about the "note" on pioneer's website when you look at the upgrade discs. below the picture it says someing like "note: this does not upgrade xm or ipod controls" or close to it, thats all. I just want to know if i got the 70 disks, would it bring my head unit display up to speed, cause i have not loaded any disks and i cant see the xm channel logo's above the channel name. I am just trying to make sure my N3 is as current as it can be, i know the n4 may have a different controls and chips, and im not tryin

Ok so i just looked though 55 pages using the search engine and found nothing, im looking for how to get into the service menu, i want to see whats in there to see if i can tweak anything. Hey mods i'm thinking a how to section would be a good addition to this already very informative website. bypasses, hacks, tweaks and the likes. Just an idea for you to ponder on, could include all types of Avic's , could mean less searching and less repetative questions.

i understand its an external source, but what other than a tv tuner can you install, i mean external cd players wether single or multi already have a button. when i had my old pioneer 930 the xm was considered external but now its got its own button, just trying to make this thing as mack daddy as possible.

Ok so i am hooking up everythings and had a question about sources, I got xm for that is usable and radio, aux, ipod, and cd are are selectabale and i know if ne external device is available then you can touch it but anyway heres the real question What would be considered external on my N3, the only stuff i could would be the bluetooth which says it not compatible. just a question i had, im trying to make this thing so blingy so i can justify it to the wife.

on the 70 disks it says that it does not upgrade the xm or ipod controls, is are they infering that the 70's do have the same "upgrade" as the 60's?? I just want to do this right the first time since you can't go backwards in firmware easily from what i have reading on here.

I went back to CC tonight and I got them to give me a free Ipod adapter since they can't get me disks, I tried the whole new disks are 250 thing and they tod me they would give me back what i could buy them off e-bay for. I also had them check other stores in the area and the store in Spartanburg SC still had one, its open box but they said it had all the stuff, they offered to switch out units for me but I already installed it and dont feel like ripping it out to put it back in. Figured I will burn the cndv-70 disk since I already downloaded it from the torrent. I noticed that the new 7

Ok guys heres a question i searched for and maybe its stupid but i figured better ask then regret it later. I download the cnfv70 east disc but my N3 has never had a navi disc in it and I didnt get one when i bought the unit cause CC lost it. Do i need both disc to do the navi program install, or can i get by with just the east disk????? I dont want to get half way through and get pissed off.

im in the same boat, I know Staples will burn cd's i dont know about dual layer DVD's so im going to call them tomarrow, just an idea, and you get it done right then. Dont know how much they charge though.

is there any way to add an external hard drive one could save the navi discs to so you can always have them ready to go??

sorry for asking a stupid question i knew i had sla on my old radio, but i keep finding new setting screens everytime i turn this thing on. this thing needs a class and a personal assistant, but im getting use to it.

I am currently trying to burn a copy of the cdnv-70mpt east disk and i read that it does not have xm upgrades on it. My question is as of right now no disks have been loaded onto the avic-n3. Since this is the case will this cdnv-70 disk load in the channel images above the xm station and song titles? I was just wondering as i have seen some pictures of units with the station icons. Or do i need to first load in a cdnv-60 disk to do any upgrades. If i push the navi buttons now it justgoes to a blank screen and says load appropriate disk.

when im playing a dvd i have to have the volume all the way up to hear, if i switch to fm or xm i blow my ears out, is there an adjustment somewhere that i can equalize the volumes????

has anyone tried it? cause if not i will whn the n4's hit my local curcuit city

Why wont the N4 disks work, according to Pioneer's website they come with CDNV-70MTP disks. Thats what everybody has been saying to download or get ahold of. The D3 comes with CDNV-70M disks. The N3 came with CDNV-60MP. Does anyone know the significance of the lettering following the numbers?

Since mine was already opened it was miissing the dvd's for the navi but the guy said that when they get the n4 in he will give me the disc's out of the N4 they put on display, so i wll just burn the n3 discs for now, or he would refund me an amount that i can buy them, but i think getting the new discs would be better for now.

Yes it was clearance, it was an open box, but it was not listed as an open box buy, i guess because it was on clearance. I cant scan the reciept as i dont have a scanner. Only select store have them on clearance as they have discontinued the model and only the stores that have them have it on clearance. as far as securing the unit, i think im going to take the dash cover off and bolt it into place from behind where it would take at least an hour to remove the unit. Or at least thats the idea.

I went to circuit city on thursday and appearently the n3's are on clearance for 603.00. i wasnt planning on buying one but i couldnt pass on the deal. My question is what should be done to this thing?? I have already flipped the switch using the paperclip technique and i will ground the parking brake wire before finishing the install. Is there any tips or tricks to prevent theft. Is there any other mods that should be done, I have the xm tuner(no Nav yet), Aux input and will be getting a Ipod adapter soon.
