Is there new information since last year?

 

Being able to customize the loading screen would be fantastic. A custom picture/gif instead of the pioneer logo would be really nice

I guess you need it hand fed...I told you to google when previous models...aka 8200..8100..8000 were released and that would give you an idea when the new model would likely be released ....if Pioneer follows that routine as companies like Apple do.

Do some googling and find out the release date of the previous yr models.

Do you actually need someone to confirm disconnecting the battery? Try it out and let us know...once you have tried every possible thing...send it in for service.

I use the nav on the 8000 exclusively, Im guessing my needs are not as demanding as many others. I enter a zip code/USA or postal code for here in Cad and it always seems to get me where I need to go. Most of the demanding use for me would be in Minneapolis MN on weekend road trips. I stick to reading the advanced info on the screen for reference on the turns and have yet to try the audio guidance side. I only time I would think I need 0 day updating would be traversing through new residential sub divisions. I guess Im not commuting through rush hour enough to have a need for near instant updates.

Yes it can....the development thread has the info to update maps. Perhaps the nav software side of the os is the problem in your case tho.

While the base operating system is the same as a so-called smart phone, it isn't that smart.

Im thinking with some the advances the avic team is making....we might be able to smarten it up.

Not that I know of....guessing service is next.

if you have the cover pic file in the album folder it works on my 8000

what extension/container is the unplayable file in? .avi....mkv....?

Have you done a complete hard reset/factory reset?

What does touching the screen do when the display is off?

Hey guys been trying to do some searching around and I see the Q1 2016 maps are available, are there licenses available for these as well yet or no? Is 2015 Q3 the newest I can download to use on my 5100NEX? Downloaded usa/canada HERE 2015Q3 and all of the licenses and am going to move everything over when I get home from work and want to make sure I am doing it properly and with the newest, most up to date/best version out there as there are quite a few road changes happening in my area in the past year. Am I just missing the 2016 license somewhere or is there not one yet, and if not in theory once it becomes available I can just delete the folders or items in the folders I need to and move all 2016 files over and that will update me if and when licenses are available? 

When the 2016Q1 lyc appear, you can del the old 2015 files and replace with 2016 yes.

Load the map data on a usb stick.

Do I need to have both the head unit and car BT paired with my mobile to get the phone function in the head unit to work. As it is right now, I can get the phone to pair with my mobile for media but nothing else.

reboot your phone if you havent and try again.

The development thread is where  testmode key info is found, not sure if it boots before the pass screen nag. Im guessing it boots before...this would be how a tech would get in to fix the unit.

I could be wrong....try it out.

Wireless streaming from phone(S6 Edge) to ScreenBeam mini2 via wifi and into Nex 8000 thru hdmi. Bluetooth covers the audio. Spotify...Pandora...I was even streaming NHL games.

I just purchased an 8200NEX, and I am installing it myself. I got to the part where I am supposed to install the GPS antenna.

However, the antenna base is not magnetic. Is this a faulty part or is this common now with the newer units?

If Im correct there should be a double sided square piece/pad of tape. Mine was installed on the dash inside the car.

Call the store where purchased and get the installer to tell you the password he/she used.

So basically the songs are sitting in your phone and you want to play them. Have you tried Bluetooth Audio?
