Finally got my 7000 back from Pioneer. Everything works except my ipod. Never had the problem before but all of the sudden my ipod icon is grayed out. It has a number 1 icon next to it but it won't recognize it at all. I also pluged in my phone cable and I didn't even get a charge(as before it did). Did they not plug it in? By the way HDMI works fine. Thanks!

Got it....will be installed tomorrow. I'll let u guys know if it comes with 1.10.

My 8000NEX was received on the 3rd, went into "In Evaluation Process" on the 5th and has been "evaluating" ever since. Nine days and counting at Pioneer.
Mine was complete on the 6th. According to Pioneer its now in testing mode then it'll ship. 5-10 business days after the repair is complete. I'm thinking it should be complete after testing it. Anyhow it's been a week tomorrow since I was on complete status.

Does the NEX show album thumbnails from an sd card?
-
Still under warranty. I bought it in January. No, I am waiting on the evaluation get get a quote for the out of warranty work. What was your repair cost, if you don't mind sharing.
-
Repair complete as of 10:00 am this morning. Waiting on shipment.

Is evaluation after the repair process? Not too bad for me. I send in my 8000NEX last week and they received it on Monday the 3rd. It showed In Evaluation Process this afternoon, the 5th. We will see.

For those of you that sent your units in due to upgrade errors. Pioneer takes their time processing the units so be prepared to use your stock decks if you have them. Here's my updated info:
Sent in on Monday July 27th (Bakersfield, Ca)
Received by Pioneer (Long Beach, CA) on July 28 (10:19am)
Processed for repair on August 3rd
As of today it's still in repair process. It took Pioneer almost one week to even scan my unit to start repairing it. Tomorrow will be day 3 in repair status. It should take minimum of 1 day to upload the software back into the internal sd storage. Patience is the key when dealing with these guys. I really didn't expect this from Pioneer (maybe Alpine) for being such a big company. I'll update this when my repair status has changed.

I read on another AV forum about sometime upgrading their 7000. Same issue. It takes about 10 mins to get through to Pioneer. They must be flooded with calls. My repair status still reads waiting on device. Got there Tuesday morning. Hopefully it'll change after the third day.I'm sending mine in tomorrow, +1 on sticking to whatever firmware they send it back with unless i'm feeling bold. Thank you all for the info and reassurance i'm not doing something incorrectly.
-
I might be wrong but I thought in the process of upgrading it started you can't go back. I'm sure there's a way though.
-
I had my stock put back in my Tundra until then. I'm hoping next week I get it back. I've been spoiled with that back up camera.I filled out a request to send it on in for repair. Now I'll have a hole in my dash for a few weeks.....

Probably from Long Beach, CA which is where I sent my whole unit.I ended up bringing my radio into a Pioneer Service Center. According to the tech there, there's a built in SD memory card that seems to have become write-protected, which prevents the update process, and causes the recovery to fail.
They ended up ordering the part which will take about 10-12 days (From US =().

I'm not even going to deal with the update when I get back. Hopefully it comes back with 1.10. If not, oh well.....for those of you that send it off. It takes 2-3 business days before Pioneer updates their website. So my unit was received at 9:30 yesterday morning and it still states "waiting on product".Well so far it seems like there has been a few people (inc me) that has had issue with 1.10 on the 7000nex.

Same thing happened to my 7000. I sent mine off Monday and was recieved yesterday by Pioneer. They have yet to update my status for repair. I'm hoping it comes back with 1.10 but if not it'll just stay on 1.08. I'm more anticipating map updates then anything else. Check this thread out:

Yes But they were still telling me it would cost 90$ to get it fixed since " Software is not covered " under their warranty. So I didn't do it until like a month before my warranty was up I sent it in and they said that the part they needed to fix it was on back order so I kept calling every other day and they eventually sent me a ( Open box / Returned ) Radio. Only cost me the shipping to send it to them. I'm afraid to update it to the new update because I don't want to have the issue again. When I had that issue I also downloaded the full system Dump that you can find online and I dd'ed it to another sd card and put it in it and that didn't work either so it was something on board that got fried from the update sorry for the late reply.
That's BS about the software not being covered. Mine was received today by Pioneer so I'll keep u updated on my side.
-
Probably to Long Beach. I'll send mine off Monday and keep you updated.Nope sadly I'm in Canada, so I have a feeling it gonna be sent to the States to get repaired.
-
Nope I did mine with USB. I tried two different USB and both the 1.10 I downloaded yesterday and the 1.08 I downloaded today with no joy.
I have an authorized pioneer repair service center about 5 mins away (so I'm lucky) and I'll bring it to them to check it out. Hopefully they won't charge me anything (unit is still under the 1yr warranty)
Let me know what they say. I'm still under warranty too. Are u in California. I know when they are being sent I'm to be be repaired its in Long Beach.
-
were u still under warranty?Same thing happened to my 5000 NEX last year, Had to send it in to pioneer to get fixed.... lets just say it was a nightmare dealing with them but after being told i would need to pay 90 $ to get it fixed they ended up sending me a referb unit. Cost me 60$ to ship my original unit to them though...

Do you still have ur sd card in. Maybe it's trying to download from it still.I've had a problem with updating mine too.
I first downloaded the firmware yesterday (AVIC- 5000,6000,7000NEX_UC_FW-Update_v1.10), when to do the update, went from 0% to -1, then instantly failed. Now I can't get the radio out of that screen (every time I start the car it tries to update). I've tried resetting the radio with the small button at the front with no luck.
I thought it might have been a firmware issue, so I went to re-dl the firmware from the site, now it only gives the 1.08 software (AVIC-5000,6000,7000NEX_UC_FW-Update_v1.08), no matter which link I try (although the site still says its the 1.10 version.
Not sure what I can do now =(

I'm just sending mine off Monday. They are going to put my stock radio in and send mine off. But I just might send it off from my side since I already have a return authorization number from Pioneer. So for the next month or so no back up camera or touchscreen in the Tundra.
-
Anyone else notice that when you go to download the firmware it is now the 1.08 version instead of the 1.10?
I swore I downloaded 1.10 but when I was updating that advice is what happen. I'm at an authorized dealer right now to see if they can fix it.

-
Yeah....I think I just screwed up big time. I thought I downloaded the 1.10 update and it was the 1.08. Now it says to contact pioneer or manufacturer. Nothing goes past that splash screen. Am I screwed?
-
I'm having trouble upgrading. I have a 16 gb USB thumb drive that is blank and formatted to FAT32. Everyone I plug it in I get the "Make sure the only file on the disk is the update file" warning. I know the only file on here is the 1.10 upgrade. What gives?

Negative. It came back with 1.08. It'll stay on that software as it never had problems from the start. I just wanted to newest firmware.
