1.
k, i figured out on my own what i need to get i guess. i guess i will need a Ground Loop Isolator. But hell if i know where that goes. I dont do many installs. and my install guy didnt have one. so can someone please help me? i need to get this, that squeeling, humming, noise- is killing me!! please email me at airnegri@hotmail.com
You can buy them at radio shack or PAC makes one that you can probably find on E-bay. They seem to make a huge difference with the Z-1, especially if your using power amps.
 2.
hi i was wondering how to ground loop your rcas to your headunit? just connect a wire from the headunit to the rcas? thanks
Just read you posts. Read mine about Z-1 with power amps. You can try runnning a ground wire from the same ground of your power amps to the ground wire of the head unit. Do not use the car's wire harness ground wire. A much simpler solution is to buy the PAC SNL-1 ground loop isolators for as many sets of high level outputs that your usung. My Ford truck was set up with 2 amps so I bought 2 on e-bay for a total of $26. You simply plug

I had my Z-1 installed in a standard 2006 F-250 truck sound system and everything worked fine. I now have removed it and have installed it in a 2005 F-250 that had a Kenwood head unit with 2 Diamond amps powering the front speakers and 2 12" sub woofers. I have checked the wiring over and over and I get this horrible load throbing noise as soon as the Z-1 unit boots up. The Diamond tech thought it be a ground issue but that appears to check out
 4.
My speakers are driven by JL Audio amps without any problems. How long does the sound last? Is it a quick 'thump' or does it continue for a few seconds? Are you driving the amps using the high level or low level outputs of the Z1? Are you using the correct turn on lead for the amps? Are you sure that none of the unused wires from the wiring harnesses are accidentally grounding to any metal behind the head unit? These are just a few things that come to mind.
Thanks Logan0171 The loud thumping and buzzing is constant and seems to be coming only from t
