Had the return # .. ready to box this bad boy up and send it back.. USB1 came out of the slot. That's it.. No conspiracy.. No faulty equipment.. sometimes its the simplest thing..

No USB1 never worked. I'm gonna pull the unit tomorrow to swap/check cables. Good idea about plugging it in directly. I'll post when I'm done..

The usb 1 slot isn't recognizing anything I connect to it. I am using the original female usb that came with the head unit. I tried multiple lightning cables and none of them work. I plugged in a thumb drive to do the update it doesn't acknowledge it. usb slot 2 is fine. Android auto works.. I do have the micro bypass installed specific for the 4100. Any ideas ? The car is a six speed manual if that makes any difference.
