  1. It sounds like you have a multitude of problems. If you're not comfortable with stereo work, take it to a repair shop. The antenna probably isn't plugged up. The parking brake wire also doesn't sound like its hooked up correctly. You can try going to settings, a/v,then ensuring AV1 is set to iPod for ur iPod audio issue. If it is then its also a cabling issue.

  2. I'm fighting with a USB HDD right now... Trying to figure out how to get it to read all my music... I put a folder labeled MUSIC on the HDD, and in that my structure is like this: Artist/Album/# Song Title.xxx. So far I can only get it to read the first 7 or 8 folders of artists and it takes like 2-3 minutes to do that and for USB drive to be available on the A/V selection screen....

Right now I'm trying to Organize it like Music/A/(all A artists) to see if it reads all the A-Z folders....

  3. You have IPhone OS 4.0 already?? I thought they just had a sneak preview of the features, but wasn't aware they released it already...I just went to apple site and it still says its "upcoming OS 4.0"

The SDK's are available to the development community, it's very possible for someone to have the 1/3 finished SDK development version. It's however not available to general users.

We've always said that the issue was not the AVIC, but the way the iPhone and touch presented the artwork.

Right... And if there's not a picture to prove it, it didn't happen....

  4. Just curious, I'm currently running 3.0 modded and want to return to stock to send my unit in for warranty repair. If I use the x910BT firmware and wipe the memory and put this image back on, will Pioneer know that I've modded the software? What can I do to ensure they don't give me any crap about it, especially seeing my problem is hardware related not software related....

  5. For all those replacing the cable, remember, you're going to be moving the position of that plug more than likely as you're replacing the cable. There is the possibility that while replacing it you'll be arranging it in a position that the short (or better yet, open) isn't apparent anymore. Make sure to take your old cable in to your home Av setup and run the Rca's to your setup to ensure you have a bad channel on that cable. This will help to prove it. Some of you may be lucky in that it is the cable, but I've got a feeling later on as the harness settles from the vibrating and moving about in the car, the problem may arise again. When I had this issue i'd take the deck out, pull the harness upwards then put it back in. That'd keep the sound good for about a month then it'd need to be arranged again...

  6. The USB Interface is for controlling the songs and pulling your library to the unit, the sound still has to go through the RCA connections, so using just an iPhone/iPod USB cable won't work as you won't have any sound. Chances are, if you've got the sound cutting in and out, and you've checked the dock connector and RCA connections, you need to send it in for repair.

  7. Some basic troubleshooting steps to help those with this issue...

First determine if it is your composite cable... Wiggle and manuever the dock connector while monitoring the audio... Fade in and out? Replace composite cable.

Next gain access to RCA connectors on gray harness WITHOUT removing headunit if possible. If you have a weak solder joint moving the headunit can be enough to cause the sound to change. Try swapping L and R channels... Anything change? If so, replace composite cable.

Next gain access to rear of headunit. Wiggle gray RCA connector... Any change? If so send unit to Pioneer for repair.

  8. It has nothing to do with firmware/software.

It is a hardware issue, one Pioneer is aware of. The plug that the white harness plugs into that connects all the RCA cables to the unit has a weak solder joint and causes the iPod RCA inputs from the iPod cable to short out either left or right or both, sometimes fade in and out (loosing connection). Pioneer will fix it for you so send it in for repairs..

The reason why yours worked for about 8 weeks and then "mysteriously" started not working is because you have some sort of a bind or pull on that harness that's putting force on the connector and constant movements and heating up and cooling down take a toll on the solder joints. I recommend getting Pioneer to fix the solder joint, then before reinstalling using some sort of epoxy or perhaps even a hot glue gun to reinforce the plug to the frame of the unit, being careful to not affect the plugs operation.

  11. Try wiping your card and re-downloading everything using perhaps a different web browser. I fear people may be getting corrupt downloads and that's why you're getting problems. I performed the upgrade with no problems, my SD card works perfectly when playing MP3's off it it no matter what screen I'm in...

  12. Ya, I used the modified sys.txt they posted in the 3.0 mod's thread for viewing skys and it lowered my 3D level to the point I had it on 2.0 software (where you can see the horizon). This makes 3D view much more pleasant, but the street names are still hard to see up far... Its wierd that now it's almost preferable to use 2D view just to see the street names!!!
