  1. just curious...can you watch movies on the 700BT?

say .mpg/.avi files from the SD card?

Or is that the function only from the 900BT/90BT

    Thanks.

it doesnt have a dvd player liek the 900 or 90. however it has ipod video playback and you can load movies via sd or usb, but they hafta be a certain format. im not sure wat kind since i use the ipod

    Have to be MP4 format.

  2. F-Series (F-700BT)

    Phone= Motorola R6 slider

Ease of connection=Kinda slow but connect without a problem

Phone book transfer=Kinda slow but no problems (Only have to do it once though)

Sound Quality= have yet to use it and test it out (edit 7-2-08 Sound Quality was horrible, the guy laughed at me on the phone and saying"Man, i cant hear you!)<-keep in mind i was going 75mph.

  3. For the long ipod wait on your video, could you search through the menu and maps and ipod with the little message up? Or was it just the VR setting up while the rest of the unit was functional?

You can search through other menues, though its def. slow because it seems that the unit it thinking too much. However when the ipod VR is setting up, you can ONLY switch songs by pushing the next button and they have to be in the same playlist or artist that was up before the last shut down.

I actually love the F700BT. After messing with it for 2 days and just turning off the VR it only takes about 30 seconds to full boot. I only turn on VR when on long trips anyways. Also the Ipod interface is so much better than the D3. You can actually push the menu button on the ipod interface and choose songs and then speed browse by starting letter.

  4. Okay well after the unknown about the F90BT actuall new release unknown. i had changed my mind to the 700BT for now. The empty space in my dash for over 2 weeks was getting to me. Anyways Al-eds changed my order and cut me a good deal. Got the unit yesterday and installed int in my car. If worse comes to worse and i want to go back to the F90BT, i got 30 days.

    Intial Thoughts:

Damn its nice having a radio

    Wow startup kills me

Ipod interface is so much better and user friiendly compared to my D3.

    Bypass is nice

    Navigation seems nicer than D3.

Anyways I took some pics/vids of my finished install.

  5. I myself still have not received the F90BT that I preordered from Al-Eds at Ontario, California. I have inquired numerous times and have gotten numerous different answers. Bottomline is they still have not received their units from Pioneer. Hopefully this bugs gets fixed before Pioneer sends them out.

Yeah i was in the same boat as well. I had ordered a F90BT back on the tenth well after not having a radio for over 2 weeeks i just told them to send me a 700BT. If you read on their website you have 30 days to exchange or send it in for a refund.

On a side note, Man does this thing take efing forever to startup even when the VR is turned off. Also i found out last night that my bypas wasnt correctly done. Guess i didnt get a good ground on it.

  6. Heres an update email from Al-Eds for those who are waiting.

    To our Pioneer AVIC Customers:

We have been waiting to hear a more definitive answer from Pioneer on the release of the AVIC90BT and AVIC500BT, but at this time, Pioneer has not been able to give us a new ETA. Their engineers are working feverishly to make sure everything works as expected before they release the new units. We do apologize for the delays and lack of a concrete ship date.

Some of you have inquired as to what alternative units we have. For those of you that do not want to wait any longer, we put together a package just for the AVIC411 users that have been so patiently waiting for their AVIC orders. We have created packages exclusively for you using Kenwood's latest GPS receivers:

    Kenwood DNX5120 DVD/GPS receiver

KCABT200 Bluetooth adapter [bluetooth by Parrot]

    Plus an iPod video adapter

Our regular price is 1089.97 – Your special price would be $879.99. We have these packages in stock right now.

We also put together package deals for you on the Kenwood DNX7120 with Bluetooth and iPod cable at $1189.99 and DDX812/KNAG510.DVD/GPS package with iPod cable and built-in Bluetooth for $1229.99. These are also in stock right now.

The packages above will be available to you as long as we have the products in stock or June 30, which ever comes first.

If you would like to change your AVIC order to one of the Kenwood packages above please email us or call us at 888-900-8800 and we will be happy to help.

For those of you that want to continue to wait, we do apologize for the delays on the Pioneer AVIC units. As soon as we hear any news from Pioneer, we will share it with you. We appreciate your patience.

  7. dpad84, you really are a fucking crying idiot. Yes they ARE giving the customers something, satisfaction and a savings of $200. You are just a whiney bitch who wants more than what is offered. Take you four fucking posts and leave this forum.

Al & Eds. thank you for what you have done for the members here. Most of us do appreciate it.

Wow very vulgar but i have to agree. 18% discount and free shipping is quite nice. Not to mention Travis from Al-Eds has been keeping me updated on the F90BT shipment even on saturday. Im a really impatient guy when it comes for spending so much money on a iten and not having it in my hands but Al-Eds customer service has been great thus far. Actually it has been exceptional.

  8. you know what I mean they had to send'em back to be updated. " "

They never had a second shipment to my knowledge. I ordered mine on the 10th and still never recieved my unit. It was right about the time that they had an order for another 100 F90BT's but pioneer never sent them because they were being notified of some problems. So to the best of my knowledge there was no recal from Al-Eds because they have had no units since early in the morning on June 10th. Pioneer never announced they wouldnt be sending the units Al-Eds asked for till this wednesday.

  9. Well I'll tell you what. The difference in sound quality and volume between my D3 and my F90 are incredible. Say what you will, but the higher voltage RCA outputs made a huge difference. And no there is nothing wrong with my amps and speakers or how they are set up. Also, I had 2 different D3's in my car with this same amp/speaker setup and both of them had the same flat sounding, low volume issue. I doubt that they both had some sort of problem that would cause that. They just sucked for sound quality.

I will confirm this. I have an aftermarket kicker amp and two kicker L7's in my car. AFter selling my D3 and putting my old single din SONY cd player temporary that has 4 volt sup outputs. Its sounds a hell of a lot better than my D3, both sound quality and loudness. Interested what my F90BT will sound like.

  10. Well i dont believe that Pioneer will support the warranty on your F90BT if he is not a authorized Pioneer Premier Dealer. The F90BT is pioneer's premier version and is the only f-series units that comes with a 2 year warranty. Along with the addtional features, the 2-year warranty is the most important.

I could be wrong but i was informed by a local car audio dealership here that they could not sell the F90BT and still have the 2-year warranty valid since they were only a authorized pioneer dealer(Not premier). They said i could get 900BT with no warranty problems.

I guess whatever dealership applied to be a Pioneer Premier dealer has to ask at least a certain price(to cover the extended warranty) in order to be approved as a Pioneer Premier Dealer. :?:

  11. True, this just gets me super excited because I am just about ready to order mine and I really really hope this is actually happening.

You really hope what is happening? If your talking about the patch, I already posted the info about that (which came DIRECTLY from Pioneer).

Again, there is no RECALL (and there wont be unless the Hardware is the problem). Just an update which they are currently working on. They dont want to send out more units with these problems and ruin the name of the F series.

Al-Eds is supposed to have a ETA of the next shipments sometime on Friday...Lets hope that actually happens and that it's correct :D

    I will X2 that $hit!!!!

I just want my unit already if it only needs a flash update. Its killing me with my old single-din sony CD player. I misss my D3 but i got an amazing offer on it so im glad i sold it. I really hope we(those who ordered from Al-Eds) will have our updated units in our hands next week!

  12. Here's a little update from pioneer and Al-Eds.com

    To Our AVICF90BT Customers:

We just got out of a meeting with Pioneer. They informed us that they are aware of some of the issues that have surfaced with the AVICF90BT and are working on a solution. Unfortunately, this happens sometimes when a whole new product platform is introduced. They will not ship the new units out until they are updated. We should get a new ship date from Pioneer by Friday. We will update you as soon as we here from Pioneer.

If you recently received an AVIC90BT from us we will either send you a software update to fix the issues or exchange the unit, depending on what Pioneer finds. If we need to do an exchange, it will need to be done within 30 days of the date of purchase. Since you have time before we get close to the 30 Day mark, keep using your unit until you here from us.

If you do not want to wait for an updated unit, keep in mind that any AVIC90BT's that you may see floating around out there are the original units, not the newer, updated units, so they will have issues. Some of the dealers out there with the AVIC90BT in stock are unauthorized dealers. If you purchase from an unauthorized Pioneer dealer, you will not be able to get the updated software or an exchange unit from Pioneer if that what it takes to fix the issues.

We will be contacting you again soon.

    Thank you for your patience.
