Nice to know! Kinda sad i had to sell my D3 before i could even think about upgrading/downgrading to the F90BT Ive yet to find out yet seeing how Al-Eds is waiting on their next shipment. Im #2 on the list to go out though.

Ran across this on youtube so i decided to share this with everyone.

Units are expected in this week. Unfortunately we are at the mercy of Pioneer and when they release them. We have over 100 coming in and Travis will notify you guys the moment your orders ship. Thank you for being patient as we wait to fill back orders!

Thanks for the update. I dont mind the wait as long as yall keep us updated. I know yall at the mercy of the companies shipping out their products. Its just that we are like little kids knowing christmas is right around the corner; then another day comes and goes and no presents. hahaha

I guess im not to optimistic. I called today to make sure i had the saturday delivery option and then asked the poor guy who im sure keeps getting calls from us about when the unit should come in. He replies "sometime this week". When he says this makes be think that its not today because any buisness recieving a shipment of electronics worth several thousands of dollars would definetly know if they were arriving that day.

I got mine on Saturday. The unit looks great! No if I could just find the time to install it...

What dilivery option did you choose?

The guy quoted me that they should be recieving them sometime today or tomorrow. Not sure how many units though.

Heck i spent 2 hours locating my VSS wire on my D3 and it was still inaccurate on the arrival time by three hours. It would only get more accurate when i was 15 minutes away. I really hope that my F90BT will be more accurate!

Just some key advice, i had canceled my order from sonicelectronix on the 10th. Well it did not show up on my online banking account till 7a.m. on the 14th. I mean they told me it would be 48-72 hours well on the third day i spent 2 hours trying to get a hold of their sorry a$$es at sonicelectronix to see where my money was. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I did the same thing with going with the Al-Eds. I probably would be getting my 900BT sooner but now i getting a $200 better unit with the 90Bt and its from a authorized Premier dealer I may have to wait a week longer but its well worth it. Hell a bypass method has already been discovered so now maybe some of the bugs are fixed.

I wish I could take advantage of the discount. I'm dying to get my hands on a 90BT. But I am forced to wait for my stimulus check from the government and I'm in the last batch schedule to be mailed 7/11/08. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'extend it a couple of weeks.

Im pretty sure if you PM "Al-Eds" forum member or call him and tell them where you are from. hint(Avic411 forum) he will be willing to help you out. But words of advice call whoever issued the discount and pretty soon that way he has a heads up of your situation. May take some work actually talking to the guy but it saves you $200+

 

another good point but dont people like JasonH, an administrator of a forum dedicated to their products, contribute a big part to them fixing the issues? i mean it doesnt seem right that theyd fix everything after thousands of people complain, where it should be the small group buys them, filters out the bugs, and then pioneer fixes them before it gets mass produced....idk i really dunno how big companies like that work but it jus seems like itd be much better for everybody that way.

Very true, but they might be doing this. At first they said that they would release june 2008. A few units leaked out and now the release date was mid-june 2008. Have you also noticed that the F-90BT the premier version is still not available by any consumer electronics websites? Only a few units have been released to private premier dealers. Same with the 900BT. Infact the very three companies i researched by calling or visiting have no idea when the offical release will be.

It's because we're all so stupid. Duh.

Excellent point, but then again the majority of the peope out there are just now being able to get the 700BT and 900BT. We as a fan forum have a tendency of knowing a little more than the average google searcher. I have been checking durring this whole releasing period, websites selling the units are JUST NOW poping up in search engines. Therefore the majority of the people havent gotten their hands on these units and complained. All companies want to believe their products are flawless, atleast until thousands have complained.

I think everyone doesnt want to admit their units might come with these various problems. But then again with every new piece of technology, there HAS to be the group of people that buys it no matter what. These people are the ones that get the company to to fix any problems that squeeked by.

Last week i originally ordered a 900BT from Sonnicelectronix but after realizing that they wernt an authorized dealer and wouldnt ship till today, i canceled my order and went with the F-90BT from Al-Eds. I did miss the cutoff from the first shipment so i called and they said that they were expecting another shipment of units next monday or tuesday. Maybe these units might not have the problems, maybe so... I have to admit, at first i was in a rush to get this unit in my hands, but i just put my sony deck back in and sitting on my f-90BT's arrival. If it comes next week great. If not oh well, probably a better chance some of the bugs have been taken out.

Also keep in mind that this is Pioneer's first DVD/NAV unit with an SD slot. Thus hasving a flash update is not easily possible and they wont have to have all the units shipped back to them, which is a headache.

I just called him and he said the same thing to me. I asked him to specify what is middle of june. He said probably around the begining to middle of next week.

Canceled my order for a F900BT from sonicelectronix which i placed last tuesday and still hasnt shipped. Anyways if i ever decide to sell this in the future the resale value will be wayyyy better than the 900bt. Plus i save $20 overall.....

 

also do you know if the maps are the same as the old d3 maps? or are they updated? do you know the year?

 

If there were to be firmware updates, how would you update it?

Pioneer has switched from TeleAtlas maps to MSN direct so the maps are said to be better. Also to address your second question, This too was one of my big gripes with my D3 which i just got rid of last tuesday. The Maps were from 2006 and they still havent offered updated disk.

Well they adressed this problem and on the pioneer website it says that you can upload map flash updated databases on the new f-series units by using the SD flash card. How often this will happen, i do not know.

As i said, i sold my D3 last tuesday and have had a F900BT on order from Sonicelectronix since then. I just called them yesterday and they said their vendors just got the units but they wouldnt recieve them till this friday then ship them to us. I will take several pictures and start a new tread on the install.

The harnesses are said not to be the same between the D3 and 90BT. I cant confirm this yet but i should be recieving my 900BT next week sometime. Although the general wire colors are the same, just different locations in the new harness. Called Sonicelectronix and they should be gettint their stock this friday then my unit will ship.

I also called them today and they said any day now.

Well the guy i talked to in sales said that the vendor just got them in stock and buy the time sonicelectronix recieves them, it will be friday. Then they will ship to us monday. The guy even called their vendor and he called me back to let me know.

Have you pushed them for more info?

Just called them to check on my order and they told me that their vendor is just now getting them and they should recieve them by end of week. GRRRRR this $hit is taking way too long! I ordered mine the third and they said they would initially be getting them in tomorrow. WTF
