It's been a while since I logged into site so I may be showing some lack of knowledge on what is latest and greatest with Z1 . I've had the Z1 since June 2006 and have been real happy with it . I've picked up an engine buzz in the left channel and have isolated it to the unit. It's intermittent and I've had no luck to get it diagnosed at repair shops .... Now the real reason I'm writing this. I went and got the Kenwood DNX7160 to replace this unit . I've been told that Pioneer is lagging and Kenwood is the way to go. I've got an option to turn it back in if I am not satisfied so here is

Thanks for the reply . I read the link and also your classified . I may just send you my hard drive and let you do your thing . The price is definitely right . Would be great to have the latest/greatest "stuff" . With security disabled does that mean mp3's can be added ?

I have a May 2006 Z1 and the screen is starting to freeze on boot . If I put in the firmware fix will I disable the parking brake bypass ? Also if I do the Gracenote update will the bypass go away? My unit has been great so it's been a while since I've browsed the forum . I don't want to introduce another problem if I install these updates .

I have been getting some in / out reception . Antenna is on roof . I lost reception for a day and then back on again . I checked XM Status and even tho I now have reception again , it is showing " not connected" , no signal. Could it be antenna ? Also have been getting channel 1 once in a while when I start up the truck . XM unit is w/out traffic info , Z1 is May 2006 unit .

Got my rig up and running w/bypass , but cannot find anyplace to do the Pink Wire speed sense circuit .... Is this unique to Deisels ? My 03 RAM 1500 gas had one for my N1 . Also my N1 had Brightness / Dimming controls . Am I missing something on the Z1 ? I have my unit set to go "night setting" with lights on during the day , but unit goes real dim . I haven't done the fine tune reading of the manuals , but can someone set me straight here ?
