I found I could get away with using the same USB drive for the update folder that I had used for maps. So the firmware update didn't care that I had a second folder on the USB drive. However the mapping update did care and I had to delete the firmware folder after using it to get the map update to work. I also had to wait several hours for firmware download even though we are on 100mb fiber line. Found it much faster to extract the firmware folder from the download on my PC SSD first, then move it over to the USB. Last time I extracted from firmware update to my USB drive and it took forever.

Yesterday I was able to run through process of initializing a USB drive on my new 5100NEX, using it in Naviextras Toolbox to download map updates, etc. and then update the 5100NEX. Today I plugged same USB drive into PC and NaviExtras does not see it as a device at all. Do I have to reinitialize it again with the 5100NEX?
